Gone are the days of having an Advent Calendar with those waxy fake mini chocolates. There are now so many themed ones available with stuff you actually want (ok, I still want a chocolate one too because it is an excuse for a piece of chocolate daily) but today I am sharing some of the tea Advent Calendars available in Canada.
Tea themed Advent calendars are a great way to get to know a new to you tea company or just find some favourites. You get to try a different tea each day and is lower calories than a chocolate Advent calendar. Always good considering how many baked goods there are around the holidays not to mention party season.
DAVIDsTEA 2016 Tea Advent Calendar
I bought the DavidsTea Advent Calendar last year and loved it. Priced at $40 available exclusively from DavidsTea online or in stores it includes 24 days of tea with a different tea each day. They keep the teas a surprise each day but a full list of teas and ingredients can be found on the packaging. It usually has a great selection of teas with something for everyone and I found some new favourites from mine last year. Rumour has it that there is also a coupon included for $5 off $20 this year so you can pick up some of the teas you love.
Already on presale online for Frequent Steeper members and rumoured to be in some stores, this officially launches on November 1st. I would check now though as they sell out quickly.

You would think that Teavana would have one, but there does not seem to be any rumours about one other than the Starbucks Advent Calendar which has snacks, not even coffee. The other “advent calendars” offered for tea are either rumours or contain a selection of teas, but are not really Advent Calendars.
For Tea’s Sake 2016 Tea Advent Calendar
Starting with one that is easily accessible to everyone, For Tea’s Sake has a tea Advent Calendar that is available at Chapters-Indigo stores or online for just $35. It contains ten different teas to let the excitement build through the month but give you a second taste of ones you love. Not quite an advent calendar as it doesn’t have windows or boxes to open, but easy to pick up as a gift.
Teas included are: Yule Fuel Eggnog, Cozy Cabin Baked Apple, Let It Snow Early Grey, Sugar Plum Waltz Christmas, Spirit of the Season Chai, Mint Condition, Sleep Well, Let’s Do Breakfast, Let’s Go Green (Jasmine) and Skinny Sip Oolong
