Looking for 2017 Beauty Advent Calendars available in Canada? See them here!
Gone are the days when an Advent Calendar meant a waxy piece of fake chocolate. There are so many alternative Advent Calendars on the market now and this is especially true for beauty themed Advent Calendars. Have a look at the ones available in Canada for 2016.
With so many beauty themed Advent Calendars on the market, it can be tough to choose one and expensive to get them all. Check out the options available in Canada and decide which is best for you. There are changes to some of the calendars compared to last year. Even if you bought one before, you may want to check out the differences before deciding.
24 Day Advent Calendar Options
It seems that many brands have opted for a 12 days of Christmas Advent Calendar this year, but there are a few options for 24 days of goodies. Obviously, they are a bit pricier as they have more items but double the fun.
The Body Shop Advent Calendar 2016
The Body Shop actually has two Advent Calendars to choose from this year. Both are 24 day calendars but include different options. The regular Body Shop Advent Calendar is priced at $99 and includes 24 goodies. It features some festive scents like Spice Apple and Frosted Berries as well as long time faves and new releases in skincare, makeup and body & bath. It is mostly sample sizes but also includes an Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream with eye mask!
Up the fun with The Body Shop’s Ultimate Advent Calendar which is priced at $169 for larger sizes of the basics as well as trying some of the skincare and other options The Body Shop has to offer like a 75ml Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask or their Camomile Muslin Cleansing Cloth.
L’Occitane Advent Calendar 2016
Skincare lovers will love L’Occitane En Provence’s Advent Calendar. Priced at just $59 it is a bit more affordable than The Body Shop’s calendars but also has less variety. It includes soaps, hand creams, shower gels, hair care and of course their skincare lines. You even get a 30ml Immortelle Essential Water to try out!
L’Occitane’s Advent calendar is available online one per household and will be in stores starting October 26th.
Ciate Mani Month Nail Polish Advent Calendar
Nail Polish lovers will enjoy all of the new colours with Ciate’s Mani Month Advent Calendar. It is available at Sephora for $70 and includes 18 mini nail polishes, two nail toppers, two nail treatments, a full-size polish, and a nail file. The full size polish is Meet Me At Midnight as it may not be worth buying if you will not use the full size but $70 for all of these polish options is a bargain for me.
NYX Cosmetics Advent Calendar 2016
The NYX Wanderlust Advent Calendar contains 12 mini soft matte lippies and 12 eyeshadows. It is available in NYX stores now for $75 and will hopefully show up online soon. Still a great choice for makeup lovers or those who just can’t get enough of NYX. It is also travel themed rather than overly Christmassy.
ArtDeco Canada Beauty Advent Calendar 2016
ArtDeco Cosmetics Advent Calendar is available for $86 exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart. It probably has the best mix of products for a general beauty lover with a mix of eye products, lip products, nail polish and more. Since it is available at Shoppers Drug Mart, pick it up on 20x Optimum points day and get lots of points with it.
Clarins Beauty Advent Calendar 2016
The Clarins Advent Calendar is finally here. Treat yourself to 24 surprises including several full size products. At $132 it includes a mix of skincare, makeup and accessories to help you though the busy Christmas season. Get travel sizes of products you love and try some new ones too. Available online from Clarins with three free samples and free shipping with your purchase.
Estee Lauder Beauty Advent Calendar 2016
Available at The Bay, you can pick up Estee Lauder’s Holiday Countdown advent calendar for $310. One of the more expensive calendars, this includes 24 beauty surprises from their best-selling skincare, makeup and fragrance. So you do get a good mix of products, but they say themselves that this has a value of $320 so while you can try a lot of Estee Lauder products, is not huge value for money.
12 Day Advent Calendar Options
There are more options for 12 day Advent Calendars than 24 day ones and a little more variety in the types of calendar. Since they only have 12 days, you can splurge a little and get great products or go for a budget option and still enjoy 12 beauty surprises.
THEFACESHOP Advent Calendar 2016
THEFACESHOP was one of my favourite Advent Calendars last year when it contained 24 items. This year, THEFACESHOP has a 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar. Once released on November 1st, it will be available online and in stores for $39. Since it is a bit different this year, no news yet on what it contains but last year was a mix of masks, skincare, tools and even nail polish.
Benefit Girl O’Clock Rock Advent Calendar 2016
I picked up a few Advent Calendars last year and Benefit’s probably got me the most use. At $59 it is under $5 per item and while they are minis, a great price to try new Benefit products not yet in your makeup bag. It includes 12 bestsellers from Benefit including Porefessional, They’re Real and Bad Girl Lash mascaras, Benetint, High beam and more.
You can buy Benefit’s Girl O’Clock Rock Advent Calendar online from Shoppers Drug Mart’s BeautyBoutique but they were also in Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart and other beauty stores/counters where Benefit products are sold last year.
I will warn you though, people had issues with these last year and I was one of them. Benefit’s Advent Calendars sing you an original Bene-song when you open them. But they tend to go a bit crazy after being opened too many times and sing when closed. My boyfriend was working away from home last year when I thought I heard voices in my apartment in the middle of the night only to find my Advent Calendar singing away in the living room!
LUSH Advent Calendar 2016
With 12 surprises for $99.95, LUSH’s Advent Calendar is a little on the pricey side compared to some but is not all sample sizes like them. You get 12 limited edition holiday treats packed inside a reusable hat box. That is plenty of bath bombs and skincare to take you right through to the big day. Lets face it, we could all do with some relaxing bath downtime during the busy holiday season. It will be available soon, so keep checking their site!
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Parties Advent Calendar 2016
This one is definitely a splurge item but every beauty lover would love a Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar. At $200 US or $250 Canadian it will be out of the price range for many people but we all know that Charlotte Tilbury items are not cheap. The Legendary Parties Advent Calendar includes 12 travel-size beauty icons, including Magic Cream, Wonderglow, plus an exclusive Pocket Pout in Jessica Red not available outside of the calendar.
Hard Candy 12 Days of Nail Advent Calendar
If you are not up for a splurge, I have a budget option for you too. Hard Candy’s 12 Days of Nail Advent Calendar will be available again this year. It is exclusive to Walmart and just $9.97 – under $1 per item! Despite my many polishes, I really liked this last year. It included some colours I don’t have from other brands in my stash and some glitter toppers I enjoyed using but wouldn’t think to pick up normally. Sadly, it doesn’t look like the 12 days of beauty makeup Advent Calendar will be available this year.
Laura Mercier Advent Calendar 2016
You can grab Laura Mercier’s advent calendar at Nordstroms if you are lucky enough to have a local store or order it online from Nordstrom. The exchange will vary, but it is around $240 Canadian. It contains twelve beauty surprises with a mix of full size and deluxe mini sized products.
Rumoured Beauty Advent Calendars
Bare Minerals has a Countdown to Gorgeous Advent Calendar already available in the US but no details on whether we will get it here yet.
Which one are you picking up? Check back over the coming weeks as new Advent Calendars will be added as they are released.
So many brands are coming out with their advent calendar and I’ve never actually purchased a beauty advent for myself yet!

Oh man that LUSH one. If that happens, I want it!! Or The Body Shop’s, but honestly I would never pay that much for an advent calendar…
I definitely want the NYX one when it hits Canada, and the LUSH one sounds amazing too!
I will probably purchase the ones from L’Occitane and The Face Shop – it’s a great way to try new products! I’m already quite familiar with everything else…
God, these are sooo pretty! I want them all. But only cuz they are just too cute. I think the only ones with products that I want are Lush, Ciate, L’occitane, and The Body Shop. Well, that and I can’t afford the more expensive ones haha. I’d go for NYX but I just don’t need any more eyeshadows in my life haha . I’m dissappointed in the Body Shop. Last year they were $75, and the year before that I got their advent calendar for $50! Now it’s $100?! Lame. But thanks for the awesome list!!!
Clarins Canada has confirmed the availability of their advent calendar (November 1), so I am excited. Didn’t even know they were going to have one this year, so thank you for the post
ohhh great roundup, of course lush has my heart but these all look amazing!
Love the LUSH, Charlotte Tilbury and Laura Mercier ones! Ugh but all so expensive!
I only recently found out these existed. Such a smart idea.
Can you believe I never bought a beauty advent calendar? I love the Laura Mercier advent calendar, so pretty!
After going through this post, a part of me is saying “Nooo, I want them all!!!”
Oh wow, there are so many options this year! I’m always tempted by the Body Shop’s and that BeneFit set is so cute! I’m definitely going to have to check out the Lush calendar and the Clarins one also! 🙂
I’ve never had a beauty advent calendar but I’d love The Face Shop or LUSH one! The L’Occitane one looks really nice as well. I’m glad that this is a trend that a lot of companies seem to be taking on.
I love all things advent calendars for the holidays! I’m really looking forward to seeing more of these in the next few weeks
I did not know NYX had an advent calendar!! I might consider that one if it had more variety, I’m not a huge fan of the NYX single eyeshadows. I think L’Occitane is my top pick this year, I would totally splurge on Charlotte Tilbury if it had more makeup in it though!
I am interested in the l’Occitane and Charlotte Tilbury calendars. They look pretty good
I settled on the David’s Tea calendar because I have soooo much beauty stuff! But some of them look great!
I’ve never had a beauty advent before – that Charlotte Tilbury one is DREAMY!
I love that you put all of this together, so helpful. I really wish I wanted just one but I want all of them. Sadly I don’t think I will get one this year, just not needing any more stuff right now.
Great post!
I would love that LM calendar… no way in heck I can justify that price though lol
