This is the final part of my review on Tea Taxi’s Tea Generation monthly tea subscription sample pack. You can read my overview of the subscription here, and a review of three of the black teas included here while the non black teas included this month are here. Today, I am reviewing the rest of the black teas, Banana Shake, Bombay Chai and Coco Vanilla.
If you are not familiar with Tea Taxi’s subscription, rather than larger bags of 3-4 teas that you may not like, you get 10 sample packs to decide what you like. Each pack has enough for one decent sized cup of tea and then you can buy the teas direct from Tea Taxi. The sample packs show ingredients, any allergens, steeping times/temperatures and the provenance of the tea.
Tea Taxi Banana Shake Subscription Sample
I expected more visible banana pieces in Tea Taxi’s Banana Shake but it still has a strong banana flavour. Ingredients include natural flavours, sunflower, calendula, black tea from Sri Lanka and bananas. He had this one and added milk before I tried it, so not sure how much of the “shake” taste is down to the added milk or flavouring of the tea. The idea of a warm milkshake is a little strange for me, but it works.
Tea Taxi – Bombay Chai Subscription Sample
I am not the biggest fan of cinnamon so generally do not drink chai teas but Tea Taxi’s Bombay Chai is drinkable with the mix of ginger and cardamom to give it an additional kick without being too cinamonny. If like me, you are not the biggest Chai lover, you may prefer their pumpkin or vanilla chai teas instead of this or the traditional chai.
Tea Taxi – Coco Vanilla Subscription Sample
On to my favourite of the three black teas I tried this week, Tea Taxi’s Coco Vanilla because, chocolate! Black tea with chocolate, white chocolate, cocoa and coconut, what is not to like? Smooth and chocolatey, this dessert tea was the one we argued over (so I pretended I really wanted banana shake so he gave me this one). I oversteeped this, about 5-6 minutes but it still tasted great Definitely one I would drink again.
You can sign up for the Tea Taxi subscription here and get your paws on the next envelope around the 1st of the month.
