Getting into the more traditional Christmas colours from the Metallic Holiday Collection. Paint it Pretty Polish Holly to my Jolly is a slightly muted red metallic. It is not the classic holly berry red you would think from the name, with a touch of orange and not quite as in your face as many holiday reds. I prefer these kinds of reds personally, I find them much more wearable.
Swatches of Holly to my Jolly by Paint it Pretty Polish
The polish levels easily for full opacity in two coats. I often find I need a third when I use lights to take photos but it didn’t show any visible nail line. There are some brush strokes but they are less visible to the naked eye.
Shown with two coats of Paint it Pretty Polish Holly to my Jolly. Topped with glossy top coat. Wear time is good. I wore a skittles mani using all five of the polishes from the metallic holiday collection for 4 days (usually I get tip-wear in 2). Stamping with white did seem to mute the red even more. Maybe because less is showing but it just seemed darker when stamped.
Paint it Pretty Polish Holly to my Jolly Matte Swatches
Worn with one coat My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte top coat and stamped with Born Pretty white stamping polish. I actually really like this matte but it did seem more prone to chipping when matte than glossy.
Paint it Pretty Polish Holly to my Jolly Stamping Test
The metallic collection by Paint it Pretty Polish is not advertised as a stamping polish but I always like to try ones that seem to have decent opacity. Holly to my Jolly shows ok over black and white but is not super opaque.
