As the weather changes, so does my skin care needs. My usually combination skin still has an oily t-zone but my dry patches are really dry. So finding something that works is amazing. I got a bottle of Neutrogena Hydro Boost Serum at the ChickAdvisor Showcase and have been using it ever since.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost is a concentrated serum. It is meant to instantly absorb to quench skin and deliver higher hydration levels for fully hydrated skin that glows day after day. So how does it live up to the promise?
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Serum Review
The fact that I have carried on using it should let you know that I like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Serum. It does absorb quickly, but until completely absorbed, does have an almost silicone feel to it on the skin. Not like a primer, but noticeable for about a minute after application. While wearable under makeup, you do need to wait for it to absorb or makeup slides around on it. But that is my only complaint about it.
Once absorbed, even before moisturizer, my skin looks plumper and the dry patch on my left cheek has completely gone using this and my regular moisturizer. It also doesn’t make my oilier areas greasy looking which can be an issue with intense moisturizing products.
The serum is $20-25 Canadian so on the higher side of pricing for a drug store serum, but performs as well as some high end ones I have tried. With Optimum points at Shoppers Drug Mart and a sale, it is probably on par for pricing as your regular brand. I might pick up the matching Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer for the colder weather as I am impressed with the serum.
What’s on my nails: I am actually not sure. It is a one of a kind/oops batch that I got from Girly Bits at Indie Expo Canada last year. It looked more like a dusty blurple in the bottle but is very blue on the nail. Still gorgeous.
I love the look of that serum – plus, it sounds good too! And the nails look fab with it!
