It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas tea season! Shortly before a new collection becomes available from DAVIDsTEA, we often see them in the sample section with online orders. Today, five new teas showed up in the sample section that are likely winter teas and tea of the months over the coming months.
They are Candy Cane Crush which I have been told will be the December tea of the month but is already a sample so may be available earlier. Plus Sleigh Ride, White Cranberry Bark, Caramel Shortbread and the returning Sleigh Ride. I am personally super excited for Caramel Shortbread.
I fully expect that this is far from everything they will be offering. Snow Day is usually a good seller and Christmas favourite, so would be surprised if it did not make a comeback. They had a few releases over the winter months last year too. The advent calendar is coming on October 26th, it may be a presale like last year with the calendar and teas hitting stores later but who knows.
The Winter 2017 Teas from DAVIDsTEA
Candy Cane Crush was the tea of the month for December last year and became a quick favourite for many. A mix of black tea, white chocolate and candy canes. Sadly, not a great dupe for Teavana’s White Chocolate Peppermint but still delicious. DAVIDsTEA describes Candy Cane Crush as “White chocolate drops. Snowflake sprinkles. And crushed candy cane pieces. Could this sweet and minty black tea be any more festive? We think not.”
Caramel Shortbread is a new tea and top of my list to try. They don’t list tea types or ingredients for the samples so not sure exactly what is in it, but who doesn’t love shortbread? I am on a real dessert kick lately so can’t wait to get my hands on this. DAVIDsTEA describes Caramel Shortbread as “All the melt-in-your-mouth richness of shortbread baked into a blend of willow bark, caramelized almond and sour cherry? Resistance is futile.”
Sleigh Ride is another returning tea. This one has been around for a while. Not one of my personal faves but I know others love it. DAVIDsTEA describes this one as “This sweet, tart and earthy herbal is as nice and rosy as a caroler’s cheeks.” If the same as previous years, it includes Apple, hibiscus blossoms, pineapple, papaya , beetroot, cinnamon, raisins, coconut, roasted almonds, popped rice, natural and artificial flavouring.
Walnut Orange Scone is another new tea and one I am looking forward to trying. DAVIDsTEA describes this one as “This dainty white tea balances warm walnut with bright orange rind. And like a freshly baked scone, we love it best early in the morning and late in the afternoon.” So, scones any time basically!
White Cranberry Bark is another new tea. DAVIDsTEA describes it as “Hooked on that decadent white chocolate bark packed with tart cranberries? You’re not alone. Get your holiday fix with this tantalizing fruit infusion.” It looks great based on the little stars alone. Yeah, I am a sucker for shaped crap in my teas. They just look so pretty in pictures.
Which one are you looking forward to trying?
DAVIDsTEA Advent Calendar 2017 Sneak Peek
The DAVIDsTEA advent calendar goes on presale for Frequent Steepers on October 24th and regular sale on October 26th. Priced at $45 this year, it has a slightly different design. Often the design on the calendar gives you a sneak peek of the new mugs too.
The tea advent calendar from DAVIDsTEA for 2017 includes Alpine Punch, Buddha’s Blend, Candy Cane Crush, Caramel Shortbread, Carrot Cupcake. Chocolate Macaroon, Cinnamon Rooibos Chai, Coffee Pu’erh, Cream of Earl Grey, Forever Nuts, Glitter & Gold, Hot Chocolate, Lemon Pound Cake, Let It Snow, North African Mint, Raspberry Cream Pie, Saigon Chai, Santa’s Secret, Silk Dragon Jasmine, Sleigh Ride, Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait, The Spice Is Right, Walnut Orange Scone, and White Cranberry Bark.
Candy Cane Crush is my favourite and I will be stocking up. I’m excited for the Christmas Collection to launch.
HO-LY SHIT. I didn’t even know about Candy Cane Crush but I am ALL over that. I’ve been really missing out on my Red Velvet Cake and Coffee Cake, and this looks like a decent one! I tend not to be a fan of the white chocolate stuff/mint stuff as much, so I like that this is a black tea base. VERY excited to try that one out.
And I always love Sleigh Ride, so I’m glad that’s back as well.
I am all about the minty chocolate Christmas teas so bought a ridiculous amount of Candy Cane Crush (and probably more this year since there is no Teavana for White Chocolate Peppermint)
Would love to do this! But currently pregnant, are all teas safe to consume during pregnancy?
No, best to speak to your doc and see what they recommend as some are ok in certain trimesters and not others.
