It’s just another #ManiMonday. Now that the song is stuck in your heard, I have a new polish from Quo by Orly to share. Power Packed from the Breathable line is a light grey polish that is more suited for a rainy winter day all cuddled up with a steaming mug of tea and a good hardback book (yeah yeah my poor kobo and the environment but something about an actual book) than summer. But I love a good grey and Quo by Orly’s Breathable line promises to actually treat my nails while letting me keep some colour. Because, you know, going bare nails for a week recently to try a nail treatment was painful.
I covered the benefits of the polish last week when I reviewed Fresh Start and The Antidote. To recap
- Advanced Oxygen Technology allows air and hydration to penetrate to the nail (because we all know nails don’t breathe, but they can absorb if polish isn’t blocking them)
- This new technology, coupled with a blend of Argan Oil, Vitamin B5 and Vitamin C, helps to promote hydration and heal damaged nails while stimulating nail growth.
- An All-in-One product formulation with adhesion promoters and shine additives eliminates the need for a basecoat and topcoat.
The brushes on Quo by Orly Breathable polishes are perfect for me. Medium length but wide and rounded. They make getting a clean edge really easy and don’t seem to pick up too much polish, at least with the ones I have tried which have a medium-thick consistency. Little to no cleanup is required on the edges thanks to this great brush.
Quo by Orly Breathable Power Packed Swatches & Nail Art
Quo by Orly Breathable Power Packed – Artificial Light
Quo by Orly Breathable Power Packed – Natural Light (Shade)
Quo by Orly Breathable in Power Packed is completely opaque in two coats with no need for top coat or primer/base coat. I have several deep ridges in my nails and they are not visible despite not using my usual ridge filling basecoat. Depending on light, Power Packed varies from a light grey to a greyed white. #ManiMonday calls for nailart though and what better colour to use to try my new dandelion decals?
Can we talk about these instructions for a second? I think even Google Translate could do a better job. But the waterslide decals are cute with a mix of images that can be used for a full nail and a row of single dandelions in various sizes.

I used the bottom row of the waterslide decals to do the thumb and ring finger on each hand. The decals are thick enough that they slide off the paper easily but also do not fold too much when wet. Some acetone to clean up the edges and a thick layer of top coat finished the look.
You will find these new Quo by Orly Breathable polishes at Shoppers Drug Mart stores in the coming weeks.
