Banish Winter Skin with O’Keeffe’s

Winter can be touch on your skin. My partner uses O’Keeffe’s Working Hands (the tub not this nice tube I got) and it is super moisturizing. I often steal some as a night cream for my hands. They had this trio as a gift set over the holidays, there was another one with the foot cream but it was sold out. But it seemed like a great time to try the other products. O’Keeffe’s is made for extremely dry skin and a little goes a long way, especially if you want it to absorb quickly. I tried out O’Keeffe’s Working Hands, Skin Repair and Lip Repair over the past few weeks and quickly stocked up when I saw these gift sets on clearance too.

O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Review

OKeeffes Working Hands for Dry Skin Review

Working Hands by O’Keeffe’s promises a concentrated hand cream that heals, relieves and repairs extremely dry, cracked hands. It instantly boosts moisture levels, creates a protective layer on the skin’s surface and helps prevent further moisture loss. You apply a small amount several times a day to repair skin or as a night cream to just keep soft hands soft.

It is a very intensive lotion with a thick cream like texture. This small amount is fine for one side of my hand. Use too much and it gets sticky, so start small and build it up. There is a noticeable difference in my skin after using this for a few weeks. It does seem like the same formula as the tub but the tube is a lot cleaner to use and more hygienic than sharing a tub with his dirty from construction hands.

Skin Repair by O’Keeffe’s is a concentrated body lotion that heals, relieves and repairs extremely dry, itchy skin.  It promises to moisturize and protect against dryness for 48 hours. It also creates a protective layer on the skin’s surface so your hands don’t get dry from constant washing or weather. Plus it is meant to calm dry, itchy skin and help prevent future flare ups.

My skin doesn’t really have flare ups to judge it on that but it does seem to make the moisture last longer despite handwashing. I prefer the formula to that of Working Hands as it absorbs more quickly thanks to the lotion (rather than cream) texture. Both are unscented. Not sure it lasts 48 hours, but I really don’t expect my skincare to last that long. I apply different products in the morning and night but it certainly lasted on my body until my next shower.

O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Review

OKeeffes Lip Repair Review Canada

Lip Repair by O’Keeffe’s promises long lasting hydration for dry cracked lips. It has a cooling sensation and is meant to last 8 hours and move with your lips to keep them protected. It has shea butter and sweet almond oil to moisturize along with the usual ingredients of beeswax and chemical named stuff. Plus peppermint oil to get that cool feeling. It definitely made my lips feel and look better but the 8 hour promise works as it seems to sit on the lips for a while. So applying lip colour over it didn’t work well. It just slipped off, pooling around the edges of my lips. Definitely works as an intensive treatment and I have been using it at night but sticking to other lip balms during the day as my pale lips need some colour.

Overall, I definitely recommend picking up the set or the products individually but they are very suited to dry skin and might be a bit much if you have oily skin.
