Day 9 of the 31 day nail challenge is rainbow nails. As pretty as they are, I hated this challenge, who wants to use 7+ polishes in a look. But I guess that is why it is a challenge. I decided on a rainbow gradient with butterflies from one of the newer square Born Pretty stamping plates. As much as I thought I had a lot of blue and green polishes, turns out I have a lot of ones that will not work, like Zoya PixieDust or just not the right shade so a mix-match of polishes here.
Polishes used for the rainbow gradient:
- Zoya Mira.
- Zoya Prim.
- Bourjois So Lacque Adora Bleu.
- Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal.
- Sinful Colors Let’s Meet.
- Essie Roarrrrange
- Quo by Orly Freshly Cut
I used a base of a light pink polish that I forgot to write down, it has a pearly finish and is less obvious than white but still makes colours pop. Stamping was done with Born Pretty’s black stamping polish and BP-X08 plate.
Starting with a decent amount of latex barrier because rainbow gradients are messy. Sadly, I messed up my ring finger and the gradient was at a slightly different angle the second time.
Once the rainbow gradient dried I added some butterflies using BP-X08. These plates are a bit too small for my nails, even at the length they are so I would not recommend them if you have longer nails. Some of the images like the butterflies on this one work well at any length but the other images are small and mostly squared rather than longer rectangle images.
