Hi everyone! I’m Jodi and I write beauty and tea reviews on Up the Rollercoaster. Eithne has done so many guest posts for me in the past that I thought it was about time I returned the favour while she is moving.
Now that we’re deep into spring, I am really feeling the light makeup. I like light makeup all year round, but I fuss even less when the weather is warmer. I’m just going to sweat it off anyway! 😉
My favourite lightweight base combination is a happy meeting of drugstore and higher end products – the Marcelle BB Cream and Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base. The Marcelle BB Cream is incredibly light in coverage, so it’s perfect for warm days and the Clarins base adds an incredible glow to the skin when used underneath it.
To add to that healthy glow, I love using the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips for Face and Eyes. You can swirl it all together to get a pretty, glowy face powder, or use the individual strips to blush, bronze and highlight your heart out. If matte is more your style, Milani’s Rose Blush in Coral Cove is my go-to colourful summer blush and the Clinque Chubby Stick in 01 Amp’d Up Apple is perfect for more natural days. I’m also a bit of a bronzer addict, so I can’t skip The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer, which is very well loved by me.
I don’t typically wear a lot of eye makeup in the spring/summer months, but if I do I can just about guarantee that it’s going to be from essence’s All About Nudes palette (a great dupe of Urban Decay’s Naked 3), Wet n Wild’s Petal Pusher palette or NYX’s Prismatic Shadow in Golden Peach. I love a bit of colour during spring, and the light shades in these palettes are perfect for swiping a bit of colour across the lid and calling it a day.
I couldn’t do a roundup without a couple of lip products and the two I’ve chosen are my every day spring/summer nudes. L’Oreal Collection Exclusive lipstick in Julianne’s Nude is a stunning peachy pink and The Body Shop’s Colour Crush lipstick in 110 is an easy to wear sheer coral. They are easily the most loved lipsticks in my entire collection because they never leave my lips during this time of the year.
I could honestly go on – add more lipsticks, more cheek products, etc… – but I think that’s enough spring makeup for one day. 😉 Do you have any go-to makeup for spring?
Thanks for having me, Eithne! Hope your move is going well.
