As winter approaches, my skin suffers even more. My combination skin just hates winter. The dry areas get worse and all the added product to combat the dryness doesn’t help the oily areas. I have been trying out new products in the hope that I can find something that works, and Bioderma Sebium might just be it!
I picked up one of their new flawless skin discovery kits at Shoppers Drug Mart. They are only $6.95 and include three products to help you perfect your skincare routine. They also have a hydration kit if that suits your skincare needs better.
Once you open the box, you will find three Bioderma Sebium products with step by step instructions on using them. The Bioderma Flawless Skin Discovery Kit includes Bioderma Sebium purifying cleansing micelle solution, corrective care for enlarged pores and an intensive purifying care treatment.
Bioderma Sebium H2O Micelle Solution
I am already a huge fan of Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Water (which comes in the hydration kit if you have never tried it before) so I had high hopes for the Sebium version for the oilier areas of my face and was not disappointed. While it cleanses just as well as the Sensibio water, which I am still using on dry areas, I find that I am less shiny later in the day. It removes all of my makeup without the added oil of most makeup removers, but does have a hard time on waterproof mascara. Since it cleanses and purifies, no toner is needed after using Sebium H2O but I have still been using my astringent toner on my problem areas.
Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner
Again, I have been only using this in problem areas as this set really is targeted to oily or problem skin, and my cheeks get really dry and do not suffer from blemishes. To help the pore refiner along, I used a Neat & Easy pore strip first to clear out any blackheads in my nose – the worst of my problem areas. After two weeks of using this, there are no noticeable blackheads when usually I need a pore strip every 7-10 days. This is a treatment, not a moisturizer with treatment, so you will need to use your regular moisturizer after using Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner. It does a great job of mattifying the skin too, and looks great under my foundation – but does need a minute or so to sink in and dry before makeup is applied.
Bioderma Sebium Global
The final product in my Bioderma Sebium kit is Sebium Global, an intensive purifying care treatment. It is a dermatological treatment that biologically recreates sebum similar to that of healthy skin and stops the physiological process that causes lesions to form and maintains the acne state. This is meant to be used morning and evening, but I find it pills under my makeup so I have only been using it at night.
Personally, I have been mixing and matching the Sebium Flawless and Sensibio Hydration kits to suit my needs, but if you have oily skin, this is the kit for you! If you love the products in the Bioderma Sebium Flawless Skin Discovery Kit, you also get a $5 coupon to use towards any purchase of $25 or more too.
