I was torn between wanting to do watermelon nail art for Watermelon Day (we really do have a day for everything) and my regular alphabet nails post today.  I don’t have a watermelon coloured polish beginning with P so I decided on a sour watermelon candy nail art look instead with Bourjois So Laque Glossy in Peach & Love.

This is one of the polishes that did not do well in the move and despite cleaning the lid twice, it still leaks.  I may just have to give up on it.  They clearly have looser caps as the other three polishes I have from Bourjois also leaked compared to just two from all of my other polishes.

Watermelon Nail Art – Polishes/Tools Used

  • Bourjois So Laque Glossy in Peach and Love
  • Essence The Gel in Wild White Ways
  • Mundo de Unas in Forest
  • Pueen Fairytale Lover 02 Plate
  • Born Pretty clear jelly stamper
  • Latex free makeup sponge
  • Pro-FX Supreme Gel top coat

Starting with two coats of Peach and Love, add some white to the tips with a latex free makeup sponge with a gradient of two thirds Peach and Love and one third Wild White Ways.  Add top coat and allow to dry fully before stamping.

Use the strawberry/watermelon stamp image from the Pueen plate making sure you wipe off any of the strawberry image that transfers to your stamp head.  I used Mundo de Unas Forest to keep the paler look of a sour watermelon candy rather than a darker green.  Top with a generous coat of top coat and clean up any edges/stamping polish on your skin.
