I love purple nails so couldn’t wait to try out Feeling Free (lighter) and Pick Me Up (darker) from the new Breathable Treatment+Color line from Quo by Orly at Shoppers Drug Mart. I have already covered how these new polishes are breathable when I tried out Fresh Start and Power Packed. Check them out if you want to find out these 18 new polishes can help your nails while giving you a pop of colour.
I started with a base of two coats of Feeling Free, the lighter of the two purples in this manicure. Once dry, I lightly sponged on the darker purple, Pick Me Up using a torn latex free makeup sponge. If you are not familiar with sponging, you need to tear it, not cut it to get this look. Then on a clean piece of sponge, used Power Packed, the light grey from my dandelion look last week.
Quo by Orly Breathable in Feeling Free, Power Packed and Pick Me Up
These polishes have an added primer/base coat and top coat but since I had sponged on the polish, I added a glossy top coat to bring back the shine. Takes away from some of the ‘breathable’ benefits though. I did try it without base coat to see how long it would last. After three days, I only had small chips in two nails. Since I am fairly hard on my nails and did not use a sticky base coat, this is great wear for me.
Quo by Orly Breathable Polishes are available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and are now in stores!
