Almay Makeup Clearance Haul

It has been a while since I posted a Thrifty Thursday post, and Blogmas is the perfect time to get back into it.  Shoppers Drug Mart is clearing out Almay Cosmetics.  They are not going to carry it anymore (rumour is that they are making space for NYX which is awesome but my local store said they are using the space for a bigger Marcelle collection).

I have visited several Shoppers Drug Mart stores over the past few days hunting for Almay deals.  The first time, I got some great deals but in darker shades, eyeshadows and eyeliners.  Since they were amazing deals, I picked up some for a local charity who have makeup on their wishlist so it is not pictured.

Since I already had $3 Almay coupons valid on any product and nothing is over $5, the most expensive item cost me just $2 plus taxes

• Almay Smart Shade Primer x 2 $5 (minus a $5 coupon I had for any face product so free for one of them)
• Almay TLC foundation $4.25
• Almay Smart Shade Concealer $3.25
• Almay Butter Kiss lipstick $2.62 (totally free)
• Almay 4 in 1 foundation $4.25
• Almay Smart Shade CC Cream $5
• Almay Smart Shade Mousse $5
• Almay Wake Up Under Eye Concealer $3.25

Even without coupons, all of this came to less than $38 but I paid less than $10 for all of it (about $13 with taxes).

I tried out the TLC 16 hour foundation yesterday.  The Ivory has enough pink that it looks natural on me, it blends well and I didn’t have to touch up after a few hours like with many drug store foundations.  I am on the hunt for a second bottle.  It is medium coverage, but buildable and has a semi matte finish, not dry and chalky looking but far from dewy.  It is no MUFE foundation, but for a couple of dollars, definitely decent.
