Going Nautical With Quo’s Summer Collection

Quo Lip Oil and Precision Liner

Quo Lip Oil and Precision Liner

As you browse the cosmetics in Shoppers Drug Mart, this new limited edition summer collection from Quo is going to catch your eye with its adorable bright nautical themed packaging.  The summer Quo collection includes a bronzer, three eyeshadow palettes, a precision eyeliner, two lip oils and a new set of Quo brushes.

Quo Lip Oil in 40 Knots

Quo Lip Oil Applicator

Quo Lip Oil in 40 Knots $12

Starting with my favourite product from this collection, the lip oil is so comfortable and smells like candy.  It doesn’t give a long lasting gloss, but my lips were really dry from a matte lipstick I wore and after just two uses of this lip oil, felt normal again.  Normal for me is dry anyway so hopefully continued use will help my lips.  This also comes in an orange formula Set Sail but since 40 Knots has no noticeable colour on the lips, it is likely about scent only.

Quo Sunny Days Bronzer

Quo Summer 2016 Bronzer Sunny Days

Quo Sunny Days Bronzer $22

As someone who is very pale and doesn’t tan, I need bronzer in the summer to look somewhere near normal but many drug store shades are too dark for me.  The Sunny Days bronzer from Quo is large with three wearable shades that can be blended but are large enough that you can swipe through one of them alone.  It starts with a warm bronzing shade, then a great highlighting shade followed by a shimmery bronzer, swirled together they are super wearable and not overly shimmery.

Quo Lost At Sea Eyeshadow & In The Navy Precision Eyeliner

Quo Precision Liner In The Navy

Quo In The Navy Precision Liquid Eyeliner $18

The summer collection contains three eyeshadow palettes, Lost at Sea which is blue tones, Sea Sun Sand with brown tones and High Tide with pink and purple tones.  Each is priced at $18 which is reasonable for eight fair size pans but the new Precision Eyeliner only comes in a blue shade In The Navy (go on, you know you want to sing it).

The shadows do need a primer though, they are very powdery without one.  Shown with Essence I Love Stage base (top), bare skin and Rimmel Scandaleyes in White.  With the exception of the paler shades, they were better over the creamy white base of my Rimmel Scandaleyes pencil.  They did not blend as well over the Essence primer and are quite powdery over bare skin (although my eyes are oilier than my arm so show a bit better there).

The liner however shows well without any shadow or primer and has lasting power while washing off without scrubbing.  It has a slight metallic sheen and for blue, is really wearable and a nice change from the black and brown staples in my stash.

Quo products are exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart and the summer collection is in stores now or soon depending on their stock.  For me, the bronzer will get a lot of use, but for me, the winner is the lip oils and I will be stocking up before this limited edition collection sells out or disappears from the shelves.
