While the last two Avon A Boxes I shared were fairly similar in their contents, The Power of Pink Avon A Box switched it up completely. It includes nail polish too which I am always happy to see. Plus a generous perfume sample. Most of these I have tried before but always good to have travel sizes ahead of the holidays. The Avon Power of Pink box sells for $30, which isn’t bad with a decent sized perfume sample but you can pick it up for $10 if you spend $40 on your favourites in the current campaign brochure.
The Power of Pink A Box from Avon – What’s In The Box
As always, there is a product card enclosed in the cute triangle box. You get to see the contents before you buy anyway but good to keep to remind you which shade/scent to buy if you love the samples. Included in The Power of Pink A Box are
- Avon True Color Pro+ Nail Enamel in Pastel Pink (full size)
- Avon True Color Glossy Tube Lip Gloss in Pink Burst (full size)
- Skin So Soft Soft & Sensual Body Lotion (travel size)
- Skin So Soft Soft & Sensual Creamy Body Wash (travel size)
- Prima Eau de Parfum (9ml travel size)
Skin So Soft Body Wash & Lotion From Avon’s The Power of Pink A Box
The Skin So Soft line is not necessarily something I would buy. Avon has some great other body washes but the pink Soft & Sensual Skin So Soft line was what my grandma used when I was growing up so it carries some nostalgia. She had a pink bath tub, pink bathroom tissue and all pink bath products. There was something so fun about visiting her and having a pink bath with her Avon oil and bubble bath mixed! I guess you don’t mess with what works because while the ingredients may have change, the scent and moisturizing qualities of the line have remained.
Avon True Color Pro+ Nail Polish in Pastel Pink From The Power of Pink A Box
Pastel pink is not really my kind of shade for my nails. I keep a bottle in my collection for nail art but that is about all. I have some great polishes from the Avon True Color line. They last on my nails and have some nice colours. Unfortunately, Pastel Pink is not one of them. It is more sheer than some of the others I own and drags on the second coat leaving bald spots and brush marks. I am trying a new base coat so maybe Avon’s polishes don’t agree with it. Plus my feelings on the colour usually impact my judgement on a polish so try it if you love pink!
Avon Prima Fragrance From The Power of Pink A Box
Prima manages floral, woodsy and fruity all at the same time. The fruity notes settle quickly leaving a delicate but long lasting feminine fragrance. I already have a bottle of this I wear occasionally but since Avon is quite generous with bottle sizes, nice to have a generous travel size to keep in my purse or overnight bag.
Avon Glossy Tube Lip in Pink Burst From The Power of Pink A Box
The let down of the Power of Pink A Box for me. Avon’s Glossy Tube Lip Balm in Pink Burst just reminds me of those cheap lip glosses I used as a kid. OK maybe the ones that come in those mega sets for adults. It is a bit too pink, too sticky and feels tacky on the lips. Just not a fan. But I realize I am fussy about glosses and the matte lip trend has made that worse because now a glossy lip needs to be perfect.
Overall though, if you are spending $40 in the current campaign, worth spending the $10 for the box to get some travel sized goodies, especially the perfume! Shop online through avon.ca here or contact your local Avon rep to order.
