Part of the Be a Pirate collection, Alter Ego’s Royal Prisoner of Love is a gorgeous royal blue – purple – even a darker periwinkle in some lights. With holo and purple, it was a winner in the set of Alter Ego nail polishes I tried ahead of helping out Cynthia at the upcoming Indie Expo Canada this weekend. All of the polishes are beautiful, but a purple will always steal my heart. It is hard to pick up the colour in photos of this one, but this is the closest to what my naked eye sees. In various lights, it appears a more glowy periwinkle (bright sunlight), more blue or more purple.
This damsel’s father knew no man can resist his beautiful daughter so he hired a bodyguard to protect her. Sadly, Papa didn’t know the thug he hired was the King Of Pirate’s right hand man and now Papa’s princess is a Royal Prisoner Of Love!
Alter Ego bottles are not like most regular round or square polish bottles. They are uniquely shaped which makes them a little more special looking. A simple AE in holographic silver on the front plus the name and other info on the back gives them a clean look. The brush in the mini is decent sized and fans out well to cover the nail.
Alter Ego (Wisconsin Soap Co) Royal Prisoner of Love Swatches
In natural shade, Alter Ego Royal Prisoner of Love appears more blue. The holo is less obvious but still noticeable.
Alter Ego Royal Prisoner of Love really shines in sunlight. Shown here with two coats and Alter Ego She Shines top coat. The holo is beautiful and it has a gorgeous colour. The red in the holo really shows in bright sun too.
I think I found a winner to wear at Indie Expo on Sunday. I am loving this colour.
