Review: Annabelle Smokey Nudes Eyeshadow

I love Annabelle’s cosmetics.  They are affordable without sacrificing quality and their new Smokey Nudes eye shadow palette is no exception.  When I first saw the information on their upcoming releases, Smokey Nudes and their new Skinny Brow retractable brow pencil were my two must haves.

Annabelle Smokey Nudes promised a versatile palette that suits all skintones with warm and cold intense hues.  These beautiful press pictures showing an intense black and dark brown just made me need it.

How can you not love that black?  Personally, I rarely go for a smokey dark look but OMG beautiful!  Plus the lighter shades are perfect for daily use.

They named all but the bottom left which is not quite white, so cream?  They show you how to best mix the colours for a full smokey eye using three of the colours on the packaging.  Perfect if you are less comfortable with makeup.

When I first swatched the Smokey Nude eyeshadows with the included brush, I was not all that impressed.  However, with my own brushes, they were pigmented, buttery and exactly what I was looking for.  Not to mention at a fraction of the price of other smokey palettes.

The palette comes with a double ended applicator.  The sponge is pointed and great for applying at the crease plus it holds a lot of colour. I prefer my own brush over the one included (for blending or applying the eyeshadow).  That being said, it is rare even expensive palettes come with a good brush so Smokey Nudes excels for bothering with the decent sponge applicator rather than your typical small sponge applicators.

It is not all about the smokey look though, they are light enough for daily use with gold with a touch of bronze and brown in my every day wear look above.  Then add more of the dark shades to take it into a night or darker smokey look:
