Buttery Cream Cheese Roll-Ups Recipe

I have made these cinnamon cream cheese roll-ups lots of times but last year I came across a more savoury version cutting out the sugar and cinnamon.   They make a great appetizer or just a treat but save them for special occasions!  Despite cutting out the sugar, these are still bad for you.

Buttery Cream Cheese Roll-Ups Ingredients

  • Loaf of bread
  • 1/2 tub/brick of cream cheese
  • Butter or margarine, melted

Buttery Cream Cheese Roll-Ups Recipe

  1. Soften cream cheese
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F
  3. Cut crusts off bread and use a rolling pin to flatten
  4. Spread cream cheese on bread – generously but not so much you can’t roll it closed leaving a small amount at the edges with no cheese
  5. Roll up the bread and roll in melted butter
  6. Place on a parchment paper lined baking tray, pour remainder of melted butter over the top and bake until browned (about 20 minutes) turning once

Another great version of this recipe are these French Toast Roll Ups with Nutella.

These are definitely a treat, even without the sugar in the original version.  Make them more of a meal/appetizer by adding ham (we have chopped it finely and mixed into the softened cream cheese and used slices on top of the cream cheese before rolling).
