My lips are always dry and matte lipsticks make them even worse. They were recently really dry to the point of cracking when I remembered a lip balm I had tried as a sample back in Spring. The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm in Labrador Tea and Shea Butter is around $5 and super moisturizing. Unlike many lip balms that use chemicals to soften right away, The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm is all natural and organic ingredients. Designed for the arctic north, it provides soothing comfort as it moisturizes.
I don’t love it for under lipstick. The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm is fairly thick and has a lot of shea butter. It is the kind of balm that sits on your lips for a while. Not super quick for absorbing but no matter how dry my lips are, reapplying it a few times a day will make them feel so much better by the next day. But it is like a mask for me. I may be using it all day now but will go back to using it as a night mask so I can wear lipstick.
While everyone will be familiar with shea butter, Labrador Tea is known for skin-healing properties and is grown in Canada. Since The Green Beaver is a Canadian company, it is nice to see them using Canadian ingredients where possible.
The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm Ingredients
Ingredients in The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm: Saponified Castor Seed Oil, Beeswax, Sunflower Seed Oil, Canola Oil, Shea Butter, Cranberry Seed Oil, Labrador Tea, Wild Carrot Seed Extract, Beta-sitosterol, Rosemary Oil and Tocopherol.
I have tried quite a few indie and natural lip balms. Honestly, it is nice to stay natural but some just can’t live up to the softness of drug store ones. The Green Beaver Boreal Lip Balm actually manages effectiveness while being natural.
