It can’t all be holo right? One of the shades I tried from Alter Ego ahead of Indie Expo Canada this Sunday is Penny Pincher. We may not have pennies in Canada anymore, but we can still love their coppery goodness right? This Penny Pincher knows how to make every cent count! It is a brilliant copper metallic with a slight shimmer.
Alter Ego Penny Pincher has a great formula. It is opaque, not quite a one coater but two medium coats gets great coverage with few visible brush strokes for a metallic polish. A bright orange copper that is surprisingly nice on my skintone. Coppers that lean more orange than brown usually give me lobster hands and while it does bring out some redness, not total lobster!
The brush is a good size for picking up enough polish for a smooth metallic application. Covers my wider nails easily in three strokes so you are not going over the polish too many times.
As with all Alter Ego polishes, Penny Pincher comes in their uniquely shaped bottles with a holographic AE logo on the front and sticker on the back with the name and other info. The colour on the nail is just how it shows in the bottle too!
The slight golden shimmer makes this more wearable than most orange-copper polishes. As with any metallic, it also helps brush strokes look less noticeable and gives a gorgeous glow. I am loving Alter Ego Penny Pincher. I imagine it will get some major use in both summer thanks to the more orange shade and fall/halloween looks. So definitely worth looking for at Indie Expo Canada as Alter Ego does not usually ship to Canada.
