I recently picked up two of the new polishes available at Shoppers Drug Mart from Essences The Gel line. While some of the new colours are online or Loblaws exclusives, there are six new shades available at Shoppers. My local store only got four and I picked up Jeans On! and So What? The selection of new polishes also contained several pinks, Let’s Be Awesome Tonight, Dreaming of Love and Feels Like Birthday (from palest to darkest) and Dream On which is a nude. While So What? Looks a bit pinker in my image, it is more lilac on the nail. Each of the polishes are priced at just $2.99 plus you earn Optimum points on your purchase!
Essence The Gel So What? Swatch & Review
Essence’s So What? is a muted/dusty lilac polish similar to Essie’s Love and Acceptance or Zoya Kendal. Neither are dupes, but the same colour family to give you an idea of the colour. The formula is great and it was almost a one coater which is amazing for a more pastel polish. Shown in two coats of So What? without top coat, you can see how shiny it is right out of the bottle.
Essence The Gel Jeans On! Swatch & Review
Essence’s Jeans On! is a bit darker than any of my photos showed. The colour in the bottle shot with jeans above is probably most colour accurate. A slightly muted and greyed denim blue that is super wearable and opaque in one coat, although shown with two in the swatch above.
Essence The Gel Jeans On! & So What?
I paired them up by sponging Jeans On! over So What? to show you how they compare. You can see the more muted tones of So What? when combined with Jeans On! Both polishes are super wearable with the nice wide chubby brushes I have come to love from Essence’s The Gel line and wear time was great. I wore So What? for three days and Jeans On! for four. Both had some tip wear after 48 hours but nothing major. I got some major chips on the final day of wear for both but 3-4 days is about all I expect given how much I use my hands.
I love Jeans On!, it’s beautiful. I always want to get it but never think about it while I’m actually at Shoppers.
I kept meaning to pick it up too, took about 4 trips to Shoppers before I remembered. I have been trying to avoid the cosmetics aisles to save for all those pretty holiday sets
I got so what? during the boxing day sale, and I have been obsessed since I received it!
