While my ipsy glambag for August was terrible, my Birchbox was decent. The Soak It Up themed box was curated to help you make the most out of the few weeks of warmer weather left and keep your summer glow as long as possible.
here are the products I received from Birchbox in August
Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel. I thought that this was a bit gimmicky when I first used it, the gel just felt weird and I didn’t think it was actually removing dead skin, but I really like this product. Expect a separate post on it coming up soon.
In less time than it takes to cover up a flawed complexion with caked-on foundation and concealer, you could uncover a new layer of fresh, glowing skin with Real Chemistry’s Luminous 3 Minute Peel. The acid-free peel gently sloughs away dead skin cells, evening tone and smoothing rough patches without irritating sensitive skin.
I received a Laqa & Co product before, but this one is a multi-use chubby lip & cheek colour. I received Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip in Humble Brag, a nice neutral pink colour that really does work well as a blush and a neutral lip colour.
With their substantial charms (read: easy application and gorgeous color), these multitasking crayons from LAQA & Co. have certainly won us over. Each creamy formula works as both cheek and lip color, and the sleek gold crayon makes it ultra easy to dab on.
I don’t have a tan for Key West Save A Tan to work on, but this after sun moisturizer feels great on a hot day with 80% pure aloe and it smells great.
We’re all for a healthy glow (when achieved while using the proper SPF, of course), but we could certainly do without the post-beach dryness and occasional peeling that can come along with it. Luckily, this lotion is here to save the day—and your tan. Made with 80 percent aloe vera, and an irresistible coconut and key lime scent, it seals in moisture to preserve your tan and prevent flaking or fading.
I have received a few No4 products from subscription boxes, including a shampoo with no matching conditioner, but this time I received No4 Blow Dry Lotion. This is probably the best of the No4 products I have tried so far, it left my hair shiny and soft despite a lot of blow drying and straightening,
News flash: you don’t need to see your stylist to get the sleek, glossy perfection of a salon blowout. To achieve the same results at home, turn to Number 4’s Blow Dry Lotion. Part thermal protector and part leave-in treatment, it’s packed with natural botanicals to keep your strands healthy and smooth. Plus, it has a luxurious scent of citrus and cool marine notes over base notes of musk and amber.
St. Tropez In Shower Tanning Lotion is meant to be a gentle light self-tanner. I know some of the other beauty bloggers have tried this before and liked it, but only those with pale skin as it is light in colour.
Typically, self-tanner and water don’t play well together, but now, the self-tanning game has officially changed (and this is a win-win). Applied in the shower, this innovative lotion, formulated with all-natural DHA, delivers a buildable, natural-looking glow. And sweet almond oil leaves skin smooth, nourished, and healthy-looking. Simply apply in the shower, leave on for three minutes, and rinse. Now if only all of our beauty and grooming routines were as low maintenance…
I haven’t tried this out yet, but expect a post when I do!
I really liked this box, it had products I liked and was excited to try out. If you want more information about Birchbox, or want to subscribe, check them out here.
