Goals For Making 2015 My Year

2015-goals-resolutions

Goals… not resolutions for 2015.  Resolutions seem so final, so “now” and once broken, they are forgotten.  So long term goals for the year is my plan.  I am not setting finite goals that will seem impossible in January, just long term ones to help lead me through 2015.

Goal: To Be Happier & Healthier

As I mentioned a while back, life has been crazy lately.  I have already made some changes and I want to keep those up and add new ones.  I want to concentrate on what makes me happy, not always what I feel I should be doing – because a happier me means things will be done better.

I also mentioned that my diet was crap, like most people starting the year, I want to eat more healthier foods, exercise more, and concentrate on other things to help me be healthier this year.  I want to get back on track with Slimming World, a UK based diet plan where you don’t count calories etc, you just eat optimized foods.  It worked for me in the past, but I started to let way too many bad foods (processed foods) back into my diet.

My goal is obviously to lose the weight I have gained back (and more) but to also be healthier in general, everything from my skin and nails looking better to being more active and not spending my downtime just doing nothing because I am so tired.  Which brings me to my next goal:

Goal: Finding Time

2014 has been a crazy year.  With the time difference between Canada and England, I have not had the time to catch up with family as much as I should.  Texts, emails and whatsapp messages just are not the same as chatting with them for an hour and hearing all the little things you don’t get in other messages.  I also want to find the time to see my friends more, we all lead busy lives and often cancel when we do find a date that works for all of us.

I also want to find time for me.  To read, to paint my nails (because people comment when I come to work looking tired and no nail polish) even to watch some television shows I am way behind on watching.  After some time off, I am staring to feel more like myself and I want to enjoy life and not let work take over again.

Goal: Concentrate On This Blog

When I started Tea & Nail Polish, I had so many ideas but it was the first thing to go when life got busy.  I want to pull out that journal of blog post ideas and catch up on the stuff I wanted to write about, grow my readership base and get to know other bloggers.  I have some more giveaways I want to write the posts for, some products I want to share reviews about and general blogs I want to share.

Goal: Organization

Commuting is a killer on everything and moving is not an option, but spending so little time at home when not eating/sleeping means things have gotten a little out of hand.  I want to do an early spring clean and get more organized, both at home and planning my time more effectively to allow me to do more.

The goals above will hopefully lead to me changing the things I do not like about my life, and enjoy 2015 instead of just coasting towards the end like 2014.

Do you make goals or new year’s resolutions?

  3. My goal for 2015 is to remain more focused on the present. (And to not get stressed about the small things!). I hope that in a years time, I look back and have grown as an individual by learning new things, traveling to new countries, developing new close friendships, smiling more, and having a 365 page story that I’m proud of.
