CND Creative Play Teal The Wee Hours is one of the creme polishes from the summer 2017 Sunset Bash collection. It is a bright blue based teal creme polish with great opacity. While a creme, this one also has a leather effect if used without top coat as it is naturally slightly matte.
As with all Creative Play polishes, Teal The Wee Hours comes in a 13.6ml round bottle with a medium sized brush. The Creative Play advanced brush designed with nearly 400 bristle ends to allow for precision and smooth application. I like that it gives precision while not being as small as Essie’s brushes. The micronized pigments deliver smooth, uniform application, high gloss, and richly saturated color.
CND Creative Play Teal The Wee Hours Swatches (Sunset Bash Collection)
While all of the other creme formula polishes I have tried from CND Creative Play have naturally glossy formulas, Teal The Wee Hours has an almost leather effect. Not completely matte but nowhere near glossy. I actually love the finish on this without top coat but it chipped easily without the added protection. Maybe I will try it again with a matte top coat.
In artificial light, Teal The Wee Hours leans a bit more blue than the teal shown in other lighting. Still not a true blue, but does pick up blue more than green.
I shade, it shows darker than in other lighting but the teal colour of the bottle shows on the nail.
As with most polishes, the gorgeous teal colour of CND Creative Play Teal The Wee Hours shows best in full sunlight.
All swatches shown with CND Creative Play base coat, 2 coats Teal The Wee Hours and Creative Play top coat. The obvious exception being the first swatch showing the leather effect with no top coat. Dry time was good on the colour coats and by the time I had done both hands, it was dry enough to do a second coat. Despite the rich colour, I wore this for two days with no staining using the Creative Play base coat.
Can You Stamp With CND Creative Play Teal The Wee Hours
This collection stamps surprisingly well for non-stamping polish. Teal The Wee Hours (left) is probably the best of the collection for stamping and shows beautifully over both black and white. The colour is more of a brighter blue than teal but well worth considering if you do not have a similar stamping polish.
