How A Twitter Party (Non) Prize Ruined A Good Customer Relationship

On October 8th, I won a Tenderflake prize at a twitter party consisting of $50 in coupons and several items from Williams Sonoma.

After 6 weeks of not hearing back after replying to the win confirmation, I followed up with the blogger who held it who admitted that they we having issues with contacting Tenderflake (Maple Leaf Foods) but would follow up again.  In the mean time the winners were all contacting each other asking if others had heard.  On December 9th, they held another twitter party and I mentioned I was not attending as they did not follow up on the last win.  I received an email sent the week before asking for confirmation of my choices saying that a bonus would be sent with my prize.  It has been almost 2 months since that point and I have received neither the coupons (which should be fairly simple for them) nor the items which were to be sent direct from Williams Sonoma.  People who took part in another contest for a similar prize weeks later were told on January 8 that their prizes would take 3 more weeks.  That point passed last week and none of us have received prizes nor replies to subsequent emails asking about them.

This has really ruined my opinion of the company and I have been making an effort to buy foods made from companies other than them as a result.
