Peppermint teas can be fussy.  Some are too dry tasting or too minty to be enjoyable.  Well known for being great for digestive issues or soothing an upset stomach, peppermint teas with real peppermint are always in my stash.  If I do have an upset tummy, making a loose tea is not always top choice so it is great to find teapigs Minty Fresh Peppermint tea.  Loose leaf but in bags, you get good quality tea in mesh pyramid bags.

I got a box of teapigs peppermint tea along with two others at the ChickAdvisor Showcase. The brand started in the UK and expanded to Canada more recently so while not hard to find here, it is not popular (yet).  Their teas cost around $9 for 15 bags which is on par for good quality loose leaf bagged teas.  The DAVIDsTEA sachet packs sell at a similar price. It comes in green packaging.  The tea temples are made from cornstarch and biodegradable. The packaging is recyclable and comes from sustainable forestry.

Steeped for at least 5 minutes, teapigs Peppermint Tea is strong but still a smooth cuppa.  It doesn’t have the dryness you find with many bagged peppermint tea.  Probably helped by the large leaf rather than dust you find from many brands.  The pricing is reasonable for good quality loose tea. Definitely an enjoyable cuppa but you can buy loose good quality peppermint for less if you don’t want tea bags.
