Canadian and green?  Perfect for a post Earth Day review!  The Green Beaver Dry Skin Therapy Boreal Body Lotion with Labrador Tea and Shea Butter is a fragrance free lotion that is definitely making it into my repurchase list.  After my boyfriend’s recent surgery, his skin got really dry while he lay in bed for weeks.  None of my usual lotions were making a dent in the flaking skin until this arrived in my mail box.   At $15.29 for 240mls, it is a lot more than he likes to spend on lotion and he would buy it again, which says a lot.  His style is usually more whatever is on sale the cheapest or what he thinks I won’t notice him using,,

I use a lot of products with green tea but Labrador Tea is a new ingredient to me.  Shea butter is a given in a dry skin product.  But Labrador Tea can actually help soothe your skin when it is super dry and itchy.  It as been used by First Nations people for years due to its antioxidant properties.  Like other Green Beaver products, Boreal Body Lotion with Labrador Tea and Shea Butter is also free from parabens, silicone, mineral oil and all of the other bad stuff you don’t want in your skincare.

While it isn’t fragranced, The Green Beaver Dry Skin Therapy Boreal Body Lotion with Labrador Tea and Shea Butter does have a scent to it.  Sort of beeswax mixed with a light herbal scent.  Not offensive but not your typical yummy smelling lotion.  That is probably the only downside I can find to this lotion.  I prefer things that smell so great I want to use them all the time.  There is lavender and rosemary oil in the ingredients along with the tea which is probably where the scent is coming from.

The lotion itself is thick, as you would expect for a dry skin therapy body lotion.  It does take a little time to work in, especially if you use too much and a little goes a long way.  It seems to work best when your skin is still warm from a bath so it can melt into your skin.   I love it as a hand and foot cream at night as it is so thick and leaves your skin feeling better in a single use.  I am not super sensitive when it comes to lotions and had no issues using this.  Since the ingredients are fairly natural, it should be safe for sensitive skin.

The Green Beaver Dry Skin Therapy Boreal Body Lotion with Labrador Tea and Shea Butter is definitely going to be a winter staple for us.  Not sure how much I would use it personally in summer, except maybe for my feet and after a nail polish swatchfest to add some moisture back into my acetone damaged hands.  But when my skin gets dry and needs some TLC, this is what I will be reaching for.
