Cold & Flu Skincare Saviours From Garnier & Avene

Cold and Flu Skincare Saviours - Garnier Moisutre Bomb Soothing Mask and Avene Cicalfate

Cold and Flu Skincare Saviours - Garnier Moisutre Bomb Soothing Mask and Avene Cicalfate

I was finally getting over being sick only to come down with a nasty cold.  The kind that despite using Puffs with Vicks and Lotion tissues, still left my skin raw.  Now that I am ready to venture into the world and not make others sick, here are some of my skincare saviours that helped get my skin back on track.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Soothing Sheet Mask

Cold and Flu Skincare Saviours - Garnier Moisture Bomb Soothing Mask Review

I regularly use the Moisture Bomb masks from Garnier, but use the blue packaged regular one.  Since my skin was so raw, I went for the Garnier Soothing Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask.  It has Chamomile to sooth and Hyaluronic acid to deeply moisturize.  No stinging or itching despite the very raw skin so definitely a plus.  Not sure if it is quite as moisturizing as the regular one, but great if you have sensitive skin.  That being said, probably take more than the blue packaged one to heal my skin too.

Avene Cicalfate Restorative Cream

Cold and Flu Skincare Saviours - Avene Cicalfate Restorative Cream Review

I picked up Avene Cicalfate from Rexall’s clearance section before the holidays.  It appears it has been discontinued which is a shame as I am in love with this stuff.  Hunting for more of it is on my to do list.  Avene Cicalfate is a patented combination of Sucralfate, Zinc and Copper to repair and protect skin.  You can use it as a lip balm, cuticle repair cream, or as a healing cream on minor cuts and burns.

Not only did this make my raw skin feel normal in two days, but I have had a rough area on my cuticle for months after it was cut at a salon mani.  It is so soft now.  This cream is for everything from diaper rash to scarring.  It is just a pity I didn’t find out about it sooner.  I thought it was just in the clearance section since it was a special package with a tin for bandaids etc.  But I will find some!

Cold and Flu Skincare Saviours - Blistex Lip Medex vs Flexitol Lip Balm

Lastly, I have mentioned my love for both of these before.  My lips were so chapped.  Blistex Lip Medex has been my go to for years and I still love it.  Partly because it is easier to find than Flexitol.  But Flexitol really helped heal my lips.  I am already back to matte lips!  See my review of Flexitol Lip Balm here.
