Chill Zone Nail System Review: Snowflake Nails Using Coconut Cream Tart and the Beaches of Turks and Caicos

Chill Zone is a new to me brand.  Founded in 2010 by the Homma brothers, one a nail tech, the other a chemical engineer, they promise quick drying, long lashing and high shine polishes with a 3 free formula.  I tried their nail system of dehydrator, base coat, tip capper and top coat as well as several polishes.  I am sharing my review of the Chill Zone nail system today as well as some snowflake nails using Coconut Cream Tart and The Beaches of Turks and Caicos.  Check back for swatches of more of their nail polishes.

The Chill Zone Nail System

Review: The Chill Zone Nail System: Base Coat, Nail Dehydrator, Tip Capper and Top Coat

A nail dehydrator really helps polishes last with my body chemistry.  It removes the extra oils leaving a nice clean surface for base coat.  Not everyone needs one, but nice to see it offered in the Chill Zone nail system.

The Chill Zone Base Coat has a slightly creamy formula that dries quickly.  It doesn’t feel tacky or rubbery but polish sticks well to it and does last longer.  The creamy colour is almost invisible on the nail but can be used to even tone.

Chill Zone Tip Capper Review

Chill Zone Tip Capper is a new one to me too.  I always just cap with polish and top coat.   Tip  Capper has a shimmery formula that is meant to make your polish last longer.  The shimmer seen in the bottle doesn’t show on the nail but really does seem to slow tip wear on polish.  Especially for someone like me who is hard on their nails.

The Chill Zone Top Coat is a gel like formula with no lights needed.  It is quick drying and doesn’t smudge stamping which is great.  The top coat leaves a nice glossy shine that lasts.  It floats nicely on the brush with that perfect formula that spreads well but is not too thick or thin.

Chill Zone Coconut Cream Tart & The Beaches of Turks and Caicos

My snowflake nails used a base of the creamy white Chill Zone Coconut Cream Tart.  Then a gradient using The Beaches of Turks and Caicos.  I was going to use stamping polish for the snowflakes but thought I would give the Chill Zone polishes a try since they are fairly opaque.  They do need a second coat for full opacity, but the first is fairly opaque.  They are definitely not stamping polish opaque but show well over each other.

I am actually really impressed with how well the polishes show over each other when stamping.  Especially Coconut Cream Tart which shows as well as some white stamping polishes over the light teal base.  The Chill Zone top coat is great for using when stamping too.  It dries quickly to allow you to stamp over the gradient and doesn’t smudge the stamping.

Chill Zone nail polish ships from the US.  They have reasonable shipping to Canada, a set of four bottles costs $5 US to ship to Ontario.

  5. I’m also impressed of your nail designs! Really adorable color combination. This Chill Zone seems worth to try. What is your feedback regarding brightness and how long it was chip free? Was this several-steps-procedure worth it? Did it really served longer that usual nail polishes? I was struggling couple of years with my manicure technique when I came to CND shellac world ( this is my must-have https://www.enails.eu/en/gel-nail-polish/cnd-shellac/glacial-illusion/ice-bar-cnd-shellac.html) – I choose this brand as it offers really high quality while the color pallet is impressive, what did I manage from other nails brands – they either have quality, either color choice – very rare when combining this two 🙂 So very interesting to know your feedback on life-cycle of this mani.

I also tip with polish and topcoat so that Tip Capper has me intrigued.
That teal looks beautiful, and the white stamped really well!
