Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Holiday Tea Review

Another holiday tea!  The minty goodness that is Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane is one of my holiday favourites.  They are already out in Bulk Barn and sold out well before Christmas last year so go grab a box if you want to try it.   Candy Cane Lane is a great tea because not only is it decaffeinated green tea.  But also just the right amount of vanilla to make the mint creamy without being perfumey.

The other Celestial Seasoning teas available in Canada for the holidays are Gingerbread Spice, Sugar Plum Spice and Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Holiday Tea Review - Ingredients

You don’t taste much more than the vanilla and mint.  The others just round the flavours.  It also does not have a strong green tea flavour for those who are not a fan of the vegetal taste.  There is no cinnamon taste at all, for those who love or hate that Christmas teas are usually full of it.  The peppermint is strong but as someone who likes mint, not overpowering.  The vanilla helps give a smooth taste to the mint.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Holiday Tea Review - Packaging

When you open the box, the smell of peppermint hits you from the wax paper that protects the unwrapped tea bags.  They are square tea bags joined in twos.  No tags or strings on Candy Cane Lane.  The steeping instructions are on the inside flap of the box but differ from their online instructions.   The box says to add almost boiling water and steep for 3-5 minutes.  Online, it says hot water for 2 minutes.  Since it was green, I went with the cooler brewing temperature.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane brews to a honey colour.  You do get some loose dust after brewing.  So you might want to use a tea pot or stick it in an infuser.

  1. Is this only sold at Bulk Barn? I’ve seen people mention these for years but I never saw them at Metro or Loblaws I don’t think.

    1. They show up fairly randomly in stores but sell out quickly. I know other stores got them last year, I think Bulk Barn just doesn’t move them as quickly. I found some at Fortinos last year but not the whole collection. According to tea groups, only Bulk Barn so far (it is kinda early though)
