MELA Bath – From Nature With <3 Bath Bombs

MELA Bath - White Tea and Ginger bath bomb - Ice Cream Scoop - Oatmeal Tea Bath Soak

Growing up in the UK, I am partial to a relaxing bath or even just using part of a bath bomb for a foot soak during at-home pedicures.  MELA Bath is a local indie maker I have been meaning to try forever but ‘someone’ told me I needed to use up some of my growing collection of bath products before bringing more home.  Now that I am getting low on bath bombs due to avoiding LUSH since Christmas (probably the only no-buy I have managed to stick to) I ordered some small bath bombs, ice cream scoop bath bombs and an oatmeal Tea Bath from MELA Bath.

Melanie’s service is outstanding.  I ordered them and the next day, they were sitting in my mailbox thanks to her free home delivery for the Hamilton/Burlington area.  She even added a couple of things for me to try out.  I have not tried the oatmeal tea bath or clay mask yet so check back for a review on those soon.  In the mean time, let’s chat bath bombs!

MELA Bath Ice Cream Scoop Style Bath Bombs

MELA Bath - Ice Cream Scoop Bath Bomb Review

The smallest of the bath bombs, MELA Bath Ice Cream Scoops are currently only $1.50!  So affordable and great for those who don’t like to use a whole bath bomb but find them a pain to break apart.  They come in little plastic containers to help them keep their shape.  This is great as MELA bath bombs are heavy on the coconut oil and cocoa butter which means they are a bit softer than some other bath bombs.  It also means they leave your skin feeling amazing!  I broke one of these up for two pedicures and it was plenty in my foot basin.  I usually use 1/4 of a regular sized bomb for a pedi soak to give you an idea of how much you need.

MELA Bath Ice Cream Scoops come in less scents than the regular bath bombs.  Choose from Birthday Cake, Bubble Gum, Maple Cream, Mint or Pumpkin Pie.  They include some scents suitable for younger bath lovers since a little goes a long way but kids don’t always want to wait for the oils to absorb so smaller is better!

Yes, you are reading that right, a Vanilla Bacon bath bomb!

I ordered four MELA bath bombs but Melanie added two extra scents for me to try out and I am so glad she did as Raspberry Slushie is amazing!  MELA Bath offers two sizes of bath bombs.  Since I often find that a large bath bomb is too much and just extra to clean, I went with the smaller bath bombs.  Priced at just $2.50 they are perfect for a bath unless you have a really large tub.  If you do want the large bath bombs from MELA Bath, they are just $5 each which is still very affordable compared to most – especially with local delivery included.

They are fairly soft due to the generous helping of coconut oil included in them so you can break them up with your hands.  They fizz fairly quickly and are not overly coloured so while there was some oil residue to clean up, no colour staining to scrub.  Because who wants to spend time scrubbing the tub after a relaxing soak?

On to scents, because MELA Bath offers so many right now.  Seriously with scents like Cotton Candy and Vanilla Bacon Milkshake, it is hard to pick just a few.  Probably a good thing they are inexpensive so you can try more.  I had to try the White Tea and Ginger, because tea!  It is sweeter than the similar scented Avon Footworks Collection I recently tried out and a great relaxing and warm scent.  Vanilla Bacon Milkshake is his but it smells great in the bag.
