Following on from Just Blue-tiful, today I have a review and swatches of Joy & Polish Co Pink About It.
It is part of the spring/summmer collection from Joy & Polish Co, a Waterloo made indie nail polish company that I first introduced to you last year. Remember Merry Grinchy Christmas with green jelly and glitter?
A beautiful pink metallic/pearlescent finish, Pink About It has a fairly thick formula. This means that is has great coverage but you do need the first coat to dry before adding a second to limit brush strokes in the polish.
Since it has a fairly thick and metallic formula, it works great as a stamping polish. Pink About It shows beautifully over both black and white base colours when stamped.
Joy & Polish Co Pink About It Swatches
A bright summery colour, Pink About It is completely opaque in two coats. It does need a shiny top coat for full shine on that pearlescent finish, but you should be using one anyway so… Like many thicker polishes, be careful that a quick dry top coat doesn’t pull the colour from the tips. Ensuring that the first coat is dry before adding a second helps with any bare patches from the polish pulling and gives a better finish.
Look at that beautiful shine! It has a mix of shimmery pigments that just makes it glow!
Shown here with two coats, stamped with Mundo de Unas Silver using Harunouta L-025 Japanese Floral stamping plate from Born Pretty Store. Buy Joy & Polish Co Pink About It here or check her out at Hamilton’s Craftadian show on April 8th.
