Born Pretty Store Grey Stamping Polish Review & Swatches

BP Born Pretty Grey Stamping Polish Swatches - All Colours

Born Pretty BP Grey Stamping Polish

Every so often, I buy a stamping polish that just doesn’t show well unless over white or black.  I recently picked up this medium grey from Born Pretty so thought I would share the swatches over various colours to help you choose whether it is right for you.  I usually use silver over grey stamping polish as they don’t always show over certain colours where silver usually shows well but it was under $1 on sale so worth trying.

The brush is a good size and the formula is fairly opaque.  Not Mundo de Unas opaque but for regular stamping polishes, great for under $5 regular sale price.  It scrapes well leaving enough colour in one swipe and picks up easily on a jelly stamper.  And we all know jelly stampers can be fussy about certain polishes!

On to the part you actually care about, the swatches of the Born Pretty Store grey stamping polish.  Make sure you are buying the one shown at the top.  Born Pretty carries various stamping polishes in different sizes and I know the quality between my 5ml and 6ml bottles of the same colours is very different.  I imagine the same is true for this one.

BP Born Pretty Grey Stamping Polish Swatches - Over Light Colours

Unsurprisingly, it shows very well over light colours.  You saw it recently over a pale yellow in this manicure but over white, baby blue and baby pink it looks amazing.  While these are shown under bright artificial lights, the same is true when looking at these swatches indoors.  It is especially beautiful over the blue.

The Born Pretty grey stamping polish also shows really well over black, even in indoor/poor lighting.  While it shows well on red under my lights in poor lighting, it just makes your polish look “different” without showing well.  Silver is probably the way to go over red polish.

BP Born Pretty Grey Stamping Polish Swatches - Over Bright Colours

The same is true in the case of these brighter colours.  While the grey stamping polish shows well under bright artificial white light, it just doesn’t translate in poor lighting.  Your manicure may look better with a silver that will stand out better.  In the case of the purple, a lighter grey may also work with a darker one over the blue.

Swatches of the Born Pretty Grey Stamping Polish (15ml) are shown over the Hard Candy Christmas Jingle Nails colours using Born Pretty BP-115 round stamping plate.  Artificial white light used so not all swatches translate into normal lighting conditions.

  1. I have always wanted to buy more supplies from Born Pretty but I find the site quite confusing to manage. There are a lot of similar items so I never know what are good choices – this definitely helps me out and I will make sure to look for the bottle you suggested.

  2. This company never sent my items! Its been 2 months! Im pissed.. money wasted!
