King Cophetua, the second polish in A England’s Tennyson’s Romance, is a gorgeous scattered black holographic polish.

The Beggar Maid - King Cophetua - Wiki Image

It picks up on the darker colours in the painting of The Beggar Maid that hangs in the Tate Gallery.  Perhaps even the King’s mindset as he was said to have immediately decided that he would commit suicide if the beggar maid, Penelophon, did not agree to marriage after seeing her from a window.

While I love the black, I would have liked to see it pick up more on the blue in his robes than the more yellow tones in the holo but you can’t have everything.

Like the others in this collection, it has great opacity.  It is rare to get any one coater black polishes but A England managed it with scattered holo included!  A second coat does deepen the colour though and a nice shiny top coat helps bring out the holo goodness.  Application is great, the polish is thick but not too thick that you leave brush strokes.  Dry time is good ad they were touch dry fairly quickly.
