With the Christmas party season soon approaching, you need some metallics to dress up that pretty outfit. Avon has just released some new shades as part of their Mega Metals range. The Metal Mania collection is limited edition and includes four long wear metallic cream eye shadows, two nail polishes and two liners.
I don’t have the gold liner and will share the polishes separately but here are details on the rest of the collection. The eye shadows promise 18 hours of wear and they are very long-wearing, at least when used with a primer base which is how I tested them. Priced at $10 each, they are waterproof and come in four new colours each with a metallic sheen.
Avon True Colour Smokey Grey & Metal Mania in Chrome Silver.
The liners are $9 and come in a bright and shiny Chrome Silver or a darker Gilded Gold. Also waterproof with a metallic glittery finish, they are also long wearing but I find they do fade before the metallic shadows.

Plum looks more brown on my skin-tone but the others are pretty much as described. Rose Metallic has a beautiful golden shimmer, as does copper and plum. Silver Metallic obviously has a silver toned shimmer. They are shown here without any primer but using a white base or colour intensifying primer really brings out the colours on the eye.

Sadly, the gold shimmer in Rose Metallic is not as obvious on the eye and a little deeper than the swatch over the darker base colour than my skintone.. It is still a lovely shimmery colour that is wearable to the office or evening wear alike. The others are more evening wear unless you go for a darker look at work. Copper looks amazing with a dark smokey eye and a black base really makes it pop.
