Quo by Orly Color Ampd Best Dressed Silver Foil Nail Polish Stamped

Quo by Orly Color Ampd Seal Coat and Best Dressed

A good silver polish is hard to find.  So many are glittery and the foil finish ones often show brush strokes.  So Quo by Orly Color Amp’d in Best Dressed was a nice surprise.  It applied like a dream and while almost a one-coater, the second coat deepened the opacity without those terrible brush strokes.  The silver is not overly white looking and does have a subtle shimmer that makes it wearable, even on my lobster toned summer hands.

Quo by Orly Color Amp’d in Best Dressed does appear more shimmery in the bottle, I was expecting a different finish and certainly more brush strokes as it has that rougher look in the bottle.

Similar to CND Vinylux, you do need a special seal coat to make Quo by Orly Color Amp’d polishes last and keep their special non-damaging high shine finish.

To check out the bounce back properties of this flexible sealcoat, I purposely touched my pointer finger to a box edge while touch dry but at that point where you would still chip or dent the polish. It is barely noticeable.  Probably a little more noticeable in Best Dressed compared to the creme formulas in the Quo by Orly Color Amp’d line, as foil finishes tend to be a bit unforgiving.

Wearing plain silver all week is not quite me, so I decided to play with my new Pueen stamping plates.  Using my piCture pOlish clear stamper and black Born Pretty stamping polish, I stamped a plaid design from Pueen Geo Lover 02 over Quo’s Best Dressed.

The stamped image was fairly clear on the first two nails but after a few stamps, doesn’t seem to work as well.  I hate that you can’t give them a quick swipe with acetone to get them shiny and new again, but I tried cleaning it with alcohol on a lint free wipe before stamping the image on my thumb and it worked well.  This stamping polish stains though, so protect your cuticles.

Quo by Orly polishes are available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart and retail for $10.99 each or $14.99 for a set with Best Dressed and Sealcoat.
