MyTeaBox Monthly Tea Subscription Review + Giveaway

MyTeaBox All Items

I have been looking into getting a tea subscription for a while so when MyTeaBox contacted me to see if I would like to try a month of theirs (plus host a giveaway for one of you lucky readers) I jumped at the chance.

MyTeaBox is $24.99 per month with no minimum subscription period for three new blends of amazing tea each month.  Each sample is enough to make at least five cups each and are blends created by MyTeaBox so you are not getting tea you could pick up in stores at a higher price.  Even better, you can save 15% off any subscription plan with coupon TEAANDNAILPOLISH – I don’t get paid if you subscribe, but you can save money so try it out for a month!

Review of MyTeaBox Subscription Box

MyTeaBox All Items May Box

The first box in your subscription comes with a gift of a gorgeous teaspoon with a teapot shaped top and steeping bags so you can make your teas without an infuser.  Not that most of us do not have multiple steepers, tea balls and infusers but it is always good to keep a few steeping bags and a small amount of loose in your purse if you are going somewhere with mostly coffee drinkers who buy a cheap box of tea bags because they know you only drink tea (story of my life).

MyTeaBox Tea Card

There is also a colourful card with details of the three teas in your box.  The May box included Almond Amaretto Biscotti, Blissfully Blueberry and Jewel of Spring which has tiny rosebuds in it!  Since it had a rooibos, a black and a green tea, you are likely going to find something you love.

Unlike many companies, the teas actually look like the images too.  So when it shows a slice of almond, you don’t get a few shavings.  The bags are well sealed and have simple steeping instructions.

MyTeaBox Packaging

They also come in slim cardboard packaging that keeps your teas safe from Canada Post machines but still fit in your mailbox so you don’t have to be home or go to the post office to pick up your parcel.  Because, that whole next day after 1pm thing kills me when I know I have tea at the post office and I want it now!  I may or may not have total Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate factor moments haha.

The box is heavily personalized with a handwritten card, cute font with your name on the box and the colourful theme throughout the label, card and tea packages – even the tag and cord on the teaspoon – just brightens up your day.  While this may not be the cheapest tea subscription box in Canada, you can tell a lot of thought goes into them and expect the same from the teas… so onto the teas!

This box arrived after I meant to pop into the Biscotti shop downtown but forgot between all the other stuff I had to do so was the first one I tried.  You know I am a sucker for cornflower petals and this one has beautiful red ones along with calendula petals mixed with a rooibos tea, fruit pieces, cardemum, anise, clove and almond pieces and more.  With no added sugars or sweeteners, you will find this one quite sweet already and tastes like a nutty biscotti!

I have been loving Blueberry Jam tea lately and was delighted to see Blissfully Blueberry when I opened my package.  The smell of blueberries hits you as soon as you open the package plus blue cornflower petals so I knew I would love it right away.  It doesn’t have the same pieces of blueberry as the Blueberry Jam tea does but the flavours come through the same.  Sadly, MyTeaBox do not seem to sell the teas in the box in bigger quantities.

Jasmine and rosebuds in my tea!  This delicate green tea from MyTeaBox reminds me of those very proper English garden parties that gave me a love of tea (and tiny teacups even if I love big mugs for my morning cuppa).  Unlike many teas with flowers, there are enough for every cup to have some to bring the true flavours through in every cup.

Which of the three teas would you love the most?  Want to win a box to try some out yourself?  MyTeaBox is giving away a monthly box to a lucky reader so enter below.
