THEFACESHOP Trendy Nails in GLI006 was not one I picked up for my night out like GLI001 or GLI003 but one I was excited about as it seemed to be an almost dupe for Zoya Pixie Dust in Godiva. Godiva is one of my favourite neutrals with some sparkle and one I have worn a lot. My bottle has got both low and too thick too use so a cheaper alternative sounded like a great idea.
GLI006 vs Zoya Godiva
As you can see, Zoya Godiva is a touch darker than The Face Shop’s Trendy Nails in GLI006 but I think it was lighter and sparklier when I first got it. It really needs to be thrown out. Trendy Nails is less of a matte sparkle and the glitter is more concentrated than a Zoya Pixie Dust, but to the untrained eye, without seeing them side by side, you could certainly get away with it. The cost factor leans me towards THEFACESHOP Trendy Nails at just $4 for glitter polishes (and even less for non glitters).
As you can see, the glitter in THEFACESHOP’s Trendy Nails GLI006 is very concentrated and two coats fully covers the nail. It does get a little thick and goopy so make sure that your first coat is dry before applying the second or you will end up moving the polish. Since it does have a semi matte sparkle finish, I did not wear a top coat, but did use a glitter base coat for easier removal. Soaking the nail in polish remover, it wipes away easily after less than a minute with no scrubbing.
In the sun, the shimmer is beautiful while in shade, it gives a lovely understated sparkle that is both work and party appropriate – one of the reasons that Zoya Godiva has been one of my go to polishes.
