With the rising cost of the loonie, I have been thinking of cancelling ipsy since they bill in US dollars and it is getting to be well above the cost of the products.  Once again, I missed out on the deadline as the holidays were crazy so I was delighted when the sneak peek came in for my December ipsy glambag and it was stuff I would use.

Last month, I posted some of the items I would have chosen instead of the ones I received.  While I probably would not have chosen the Marc Anthony treatment, nothing else haircare really screams buy me and this is the first ipsy glambag in a while that I was really happy with.

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later

Ipsy December 2015 Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer

Between oily skin and a random dry spot on my eye that refuses to hold shadows, I have to use an eyeshadow primer but find many of them are chalky white or yellow/orange.  Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later eyeshadow primer is a light pink so works well with my pale skin.  It doesn’t give a white base to make colours pop, but does help the shadow last and sticks to the dry spot on my eye.

Pacifica Power of Love Red Nude Lipstick

Ipsy December 2015 Pacifica Nudie Red Lipstick

Pacifica’s Power of Love in Nudie Red is fairly sheer but buildable and has a soft lasting formula.  This is a my lips but better kind of nude for me and it has taken up residence in my purse as it matches everything.  This is a Target exclusive, so seems a little pointless sending to Canadians but since it is full size, will last a while.

While sheer, the lipstick surprisingly did not wash me out, but it is winter and I am reaching for darker shades more often too so maybe better as a spring shade.

Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Powder

Ipsy December 2015 Glambag Tarte Powder

I think I was just happy to get a Tarte product.  While fair sized for an ipsy sample, it was a little hard to get my powder brush into the sample but I have used Tarte’s Smooth Operator before and love the soft matte finish of this powder.  I have started to use it for setting under my eye since my fluffy powder brush is just too big for the sample.

Ricky 3D Classic Blender

Ipsy December 2015 Ricky Care 3D Blender

It seems that everyone has a blender now and this one is fairly standard.  It certainly works and I like the pointed end to it, but I prefer Real Techniques’ blender which is also more readily available.

I haven’t tried the hair treatment yet to review it, but most Marc Anthony products are decent.  Certainly, there are higher end products that are better, but for drug store availability, it is usually the one I will reach for without past experience/reviews.

At almost $21 Canadian, this bag was worth it for me as I will use the generous sized samples of Tarte, Pacifica lipstick and Tarte but going forward, it will be cancelled once I get enough points to redeem for something decent.

I really like the Pacifica Power of Love Red Nude Lipstick because I like my colours to have a bit of color but not be to bold so it would be perfect for me. The Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later sounds like it might be good for my lids because they are veiny
