Skintimate Skin Therapy Silky Skin Shave Gel with Moroccan Oil Review

I recently had the opportunity to try Skintimate Skin Therapy Lotionized Moroccan Oil shave gel.

With the warm weather finally coming out of hibernation, I am not going to get away with not shaving for a few days.  It is time for regular shaving and smooth legs to go with those capris.  The last thing you need when shaving regularly is nicks or dry skin from cheaper shave gels, so I was really surprised by how smooth Skintimate Skin Therapy left my legs and underarms.

Skintimate Skin Therapy Claims

Enriched with Moroccan Oil and infused with a blend of Vitamin E, Olive Butter and Sunflower Oil, Skintimate Silky Skin shave gel offers unbeatable protection from razors while allowing for a close, comfortable shave.

I have been using a shave cream rather than a lathering lotion for a while, so when I first lathered up Skintimate Skin Therapy, I wasn’t sure if I imagined other shave gels being foamier.  I grabbed a non-lotionized can of Skintimate shave gel to check.  Turns out, it Silky Skin less foamier, probably a result of the added lotion and oil content.  As you can see, it is still foamy enough.  Just not 5 year old in the bath tub playing with foam foamy.  I am a total kid in the bath, if my hair wasn’t so long, I would so do that shampoo mohawk thing too.

It smooths on well and if you are shaving in the shower, the lotion helps it stick to your skin rather than be rinsed off by just steam.  The foam coupled with lotion helps you get a close shave.  Despite the lotion, it rinses easily, leaving your legs smooth and soft.  The close shave means you can go a little longer without shaving too, because who wants a 5 o’clock shadow on their legs?

Worried about using a lotionized shave gel?  This is what Skintimate partner Dr. Whitney Bowe, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, has to say:

“Moroccan Oil doesn’t clog pores, so it’s actually perfect for shaving, The products you use while shaving can make a dramatic difference in the quality of your shave and your results, so I always recommend starting with a generous amount of a moisture-rich shave gel. Skintimate Silky Skin foams into a rich, creamy lather that allows the razor to easily glide over skin, minimizing the risk of nicks and cuts.”

While you will still need a moisturizer after shaving, especially wearing that cute shorter dress, it doesn’t leave them as dry as many other shave gels would.  If you are lazy about moisturizing after shaving, this one is a must-have for you.  If not, the added layer of moisture which always helps.
