It’s Only Natural Bath & Skincare Review

It's Only Natural Fergus Ontario Craftadian Review - Canadian Indies

Hamilton has a great indie business scene.  I am lucky enough to live not far from James St N where there are lots of small local businesses and stores that stock products from the home based indies like the James North General Store and others.  The thriving indie businesses mean we are lucky enough to host quite a few makers markets, craft shows and popups each year.  The next one is Craftadian happening this Saturday at McMaster Innovation Park and I tried out a few of the makers ahead of the show, including It’s Only Natural out of Fergus, ON.

It's Only Natural Canadian Indie Review

It’s Only Natural is a bath and skincare company focusing on natural ingredients.  Eve grew up living naturally so has years of experience going into her line.  She is lucky enough to live in a century old stone cottage with matching gorgeous garden to grab new inspiration for her four categories – Energy, Calming, Health & Sensual.  Many (but not all) of her products come with scents from all four categories.

I was lucky enough to try out a mix of products from It’s Only Natural – bath salts, shower steamers, perfume balm, lip balm, and Chill Out spray while he got to try Snore Be Gone. Each product is well packaged with a cute saying to go with the name and decent sized compared to their use.

Shower Steamers – It’s Only Natural

It's Only Natural Wakey Wakey Shower Steamers Review

It’s Only Natural Shower Steamers $10 (small) or $20 (large)

The Shower Steamers from It’s Only Natural are amazing.  I tried Wakey Wakey and after the week I have had, I needed it.  A mix of peppermint and citrus oils, you drop it in the shower just out of reach of the water spray and enjoy the scents as you shower.  The little star shaped steamer lasted my whole shower and I could smell it lightly scenting the bathroom later that morning.  It is enough to wake you up but not overpowering like some products that rely on overpowering your senses to wake you up.

Shower Steamers also come in Feel Better with Lavender & Rosemary, Beautiful You with Sweet Orange, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang or Stress Free For Me with Sweet Orange and Lavender.

Bath Salts – It’s Only Natural

It's Only Natural I'm Not Sick Bath Salts

It’s Only Natural Bath Salts $10/4oz or $20/8oz

I know lots of people don’t like baths but growing up in England, a nice soak is like a cuppa tea.  Just a way of life.  I tried out the I’m Not Sick Bath Salts which has Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Jojoba and Pink Himalayan Salt (or switch it up and get the Dead Sea Mineral Salt).  This truly is one of the nicer bath salts I have tried.  The scent is pretty strong in the jar but pleasant in the water.  I knew this one was a keeper when he used it as a foot soak and told me I should buy more of it.  Usually he thinks all bath products are the same and I have ‘too many lotions and potions all over the place”.

Bath salts are also available in Bath for Two with Frankincense, jasmine, pathouli and rose, Stressless with lavender, orange and rose or My Happy Place with Bergamot, sweet orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime.  All bath salts come with Pink Himalayan Salts but you can switch them up for Dead Sea Mineral Salts or a mix of the two salts.

Lip Balms – It’s Only Natural

It's Only Natural Cocoa Mint Lip Balm

It’s Only Natural Lip Balms $5

No surprise that Cocoa-Mint would be my top choice in a lip balm.  The lip balms from It’s Only Natural are made with beeswax, vanilla infused jojoba, cocoa butter and coconut oil to give a decent dose of moisture in a single swipe.  If you need a little more help, they also have an Unchap version with Tea Tree Oil or choose between Vanilla Cocoa or Citrus Bliss for other scents.

One of my pet peeves with some natural lip balms is that they melt too easily.  I have one I love but I have to keep it in the fridge or it melts.  It has leaked in my purse before in winter!  This is not the case with the cocoa-mint one from It’s Only Natural which has managed to keep the shape while out and about.

Chill Out Spray – It’s Only Natural

It's Only Natural Chill Out Spray Reviews

It’s Only Natural Chill Out Spray $10

With Izzy being so sick, life is hectic.  We have to feed her tiny meals every 2 hours by hand or syringe.  The issue is that she has decided she feels most comfortable in my bed.  I don’t want to stress her further by making her move so she gets fed in the bedroom, she sleeps with me (and he was relegated to the futon as she wanted more space lol).  It also means waking up in the night and worrying about her.

So It’s Only Natural Chill Out spray came in handy in two ways.  First it helps cover the scent of cat food which I smell no matter where I go in the apartment and helped me chill out and sleep.  Maybe it had just got to the point that my body needed the sleep but the first night of using this, I was out cold in minutes with my tablet still in my hand!

Chill Out spray is made with Sandalwood, Lavender, Neroli and Ylang Ylang while the other version, Sweet Dreams includes Ylang Ylang, Vanilla and Lavender.  Simply spray on pillows and sheets and allow to dry.  The scent lasts all night!

Snore Be Gone Roll On – It’s Only Natural

Its Only Natural Snore Be Gone Review

It’s Only Natural Roll On $18

Eve makes several roll on aromatherapy options

  • Snore Be Gone: Majoram, Geranium, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Frankincense and Grape Seed Oil
  • Headache Helper: Peppermint, Lavender, Frankincense, Eucalyptus and Grape Seed Oil
  • Meditate: Bergamot, Neroli, Frankincense, Sandalwood and Grape Seed Oil
  • Pure Happiness: Bergamot, Lavender, Sandalwood and Grape Seed Oil

As I mentioned, Izzy kicked him out of the bed (because you know a cat who weighs less than 6lbs needs more space than a 6ft person) so not sure if it stopped him snoring, but I certainly didn’t hear him from the next room and he said he slept better.  That may have been because he no longer had a cat sticking her claws into him though LOL.  It is scented enough to smell but not overpowering.  I think I will try the Headache Helper next!

Perfume Balms – It’s Only Natural

It's Only Natural Full Bloom Solid Perfume Review

It’s Only Natural Perfume Balms $6

Finally, the perfume balms.  Choose between Magical Forest with Cypress, Juniper and Patchouli, Full Bloom with Rose, Jasmine and Neroli or Citrussy Goodness.  These lightly scented balms work with your body heat to melt at wrist and neck pulse points for a natural perfume.  I wore this and bumped into a coworker who is very sensitive to scents.  She mentioned how great it smelled and that she did not get a headache at all from it.  So if you are usually scent-sensitive, it may be worth trying for when you do want a hint of perfume!

This is not even the full range from It’s Only Natural!  They also make amazing felted soaps (I will be picking one up at the Craftadian show this weekend, wool dryer balls and more.  You can connect with It’s Only Natural and see the full line here or instagram.

They sell mostly through popups and makers markets, check them out next at Hamilton Craftadian this Saturday at McMaster Innovation Park.
