Each month, the Canadian Beauty Bloggers choose a theme of the month.  This month, they (and they, because not my vote) chose grey so here is my contribution.  Yellow and grey nails using Color Club Leaf Me Alone (Cabin Fever Collection), Born Pretty BP-115 stamping plate and grey stamping polish.

I have never been in love with this stamping plate but it looks great with this colour combination.I have worn just the flower part as shown on my middle finger before but decided to use different parts of the full plate for this look.

Since I wanted to use different areas of the BP-115 plate, I used my XL Clear Silicone Marshmallow stamper for this look.

All swatches are shown with two medium coats of Color Club Leaf Me Alone topped with Seche Vite. Stamped with Born Pretty Grey stamping polish with BP-115 round floral stamping plate.  Then another coat of Seche Vite.

  1. Loving this colour combo, I’m a big fan of this pairing myself (my bedroom and bathroom decor is all yellow and grey).
That floral pattern is divine, too!

    1. I like yellow in general, but not on my nails. It tends to give me lobster hands lol. This is the first yellow I have bought because I liked it and not just because I needed a shade for a nail art look. That being said, it is described on most sites as a light beige creme and not yellow, but it looks yellow on me!

  2. Love the way these look all done! I hate doing my nails because they dont turn out how i want but these look fantastic!

    1. That is why I am a big fan of one colour stamping, can’t really go wrong

  3. Ahh I absolutely love the colour and pattern combo. The yellow is such a nice subtle shade. Perfect for this wintery spring we are having! And I suck at using stamping plates (Always smudge it ? while stamping) so big props to you for stamping such an intricate pattern so perfectly ?

    1. Stamping polish dries differently than regular polish so doesn’t smudge the same 😉 I often smudge it if I am using a thinner polish too

  4. What a lovely yellow shade! It can be hard to find a really good one and I like that there’s a bit of subtlety in this shade! I love that you paired it with grey as well – the combination really works <3 I never have patience for stamping so kudos to you!

  5. So pretty! I wish I had nails, but they’re still little stubs. These colours look so nice together 🙂

  6. I have never heard of stamping polish before! Your nails look amazing- is it easy to do for a total novice?

    1. See the picture at the top, you add a little polish to the plate, scrape it gently to remove excess. Then roll the stamper over it to pick up the design and push it onto the nail. Easy once you get used to it but the first few times usually go wrong.

  7. I love the color combo!

  8. I’m in awe of your work!! I can do wonders with a makeup brush but give me nail polish and I’m a mess!!! Love the post !

  9. I love this look and how you used so many different areas of the plate. I only have plates with little squares so I love the idea the whole disc is a fluid pattern.

  10. Wow, what an amazing job. I love the colours.

  11. Wish my nails were as pretty as yours

  12. I never would have considered muted gray and yellow, but I love it!

  13. Such pretty designs!

  14. […] it shows very well over light colours.  You saw it recently over a pale yellow in this manicure but over white, baby blue and baby pink it looks amazing.  While these are shown under bright […]
