Yesterday, I reviewed part of the fall collection from Quo Cosmetics, available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart, but the Clean Sweep eyeshadow palette deserves its own post. The collection included three new eyeshadow palettes, Clean Sweep which I tried has a mix of neutrals, greys and blues. The other two are Plum Perfect and Neutral Ground and all three are priced at just $18 each (plus bonus Optimum points if you buy them this week).
The Clean Sweep palette doesn’t scream fall as much as the Plum Perfect but gives a few options for those who like different colours. It has a beautiful dark grey as well as some blue shades with some versatile neutrals. Plus it has the same amazing packaging as the rest of the fall collection which makes me want to buy it based on the outer look alone. Quo really has done well with their packaging lately, from the nautical feel of the summer collection to the dark changing leaves on this one.
The palette seems more like three mini palettes in one, a quad of neutrals, a trio of greys from light to charcoal and a trio of blues from a light baby blue to navy.
Quo Clean Sweep Eyeshadow Palette Swatches
The shades in the Quo Clean Sweep palette do seem to need a primer to show well and are a little powdery and not very opaque without one, but it is rare that I wear shadows without a primer anyway. They greys suffered less than the blues but still look better over Essences I Love Stage primer. The light grey and lightest blue look very similar on the eye, as do the lighter of the neutrals. The only one with any pigmentation is the darker orange toned shade which has a little shimmer and looks great with the blues. The others are decent for brow bone highlighting if you use a shadow rather than actual highlighter.
Overall, I think the Quo Plum Perfect palette is more fall like and I will probably pick one up but if you don’t go for typical fall shades or love greys, Clean Sweep may be a good choice in new palettes.
