Palette Bingo Nail Art – Mi Vida Loca Palette

Some of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers are playing palette bingo.  Over the last week, they created looks with the Kat von D Mi Vida Loca palette.  Since I don’t own it, I decided to join in the palette bingo challenge with a nail look using similar colours.

The chosen colours were: Destroyer (red), Echo (bright purple), Synth (bright blue), and Legend (gold) and you had to use all four in your look.

Yes, I was lazy as I still had some of these on my desk from my Save the Bees nail art look.  Polishes used in this look are

  • Zoya Matte Velvet Phoebe in place of Synth
  • Zoya Mira in place of Echo
  • Zoya Nidhi in place of Destroyer
  • Misa Epiphany in place of Legend

I realize that the matte blue would need a top coat over it, so wouldn’t be matte, but it is the closest blue I have to Synth.  Note to self – need more blue polishes (and golds as suddenly my faves are empty or too thick/dry to use).

I did a gradient of Phoebe, Mira and Nidhi.  Since Nidhi has a gold sparkle throughout the red, I thought it would be enough gold but ended up adding a large dot of Misa Epiphany to each nail where the blue and purple met.  Once the dot is dry, add two coats of shiny top coat to even out the nail and make the gold shine.

While these colours do not clash, I am not loving all the bright colours, hopefully future rounds of palette bingo bring something a little more my style.
