I love Bioderma’s micellar water but am always on the hunt for cheaper alternatives to my favourites.  It gives me more money to spend on things I love, like nail polish!  I tried Simple’s micellar water a few months ago and really liked it so when Chick Advisor had a product review club opportunity for Simple skincare, I jumped at the chance and was accepted.Simple Cleansing Micellar Water

Simple Cleansing Micellar Water Review

Simple’s micellar water is a blend of multi-vitamins, skin loving ingredients and gentle cleansers to cleanse the skin while removing make-up. It leaves your skin feeling clean and hydrated without the dryness from many regular cleansers.

I found this actually does a really good job of removing makeup.  While it doesn’t leave my face quite as clean feeling as Bioderma’s, it fights my waterproof mascara without scrubbing which is always a plus.  I think my preference for Bioderma also has a lot to do with the fact that I use the Sebium H20 Micellar which is designed for combination skin and does a better job on my oily t-zone while Simple is all skin types and does not fully target the oil that leaves my skin feeling less clean.  It does remove some of the oil and for non oily skin, would be a great drug store alternative to the more expensive micellar waters out there.

I would probably buy it again, but would love if they came out with an oily skin variety that mops up some more of that shine.

Simple Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes

Simple Makeup Remover Wipes Review

While the micellar solution in these is similar to the water, the wipes themselves are rougher than my current makeup removing wipes.  Sure, it means that you  don’t need to scrub as the roughness does some of the work for you, but it was a little harsh around the eyes.  The water on a cotton pad seemed to do a better job of removing waterproof eyeliner and mascara too.  Maybe because the pads were more wet than the wipes.  They did stay wet through the whole pack, unlike some where you get half way through and they have dried out and are not drying on your skin.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer

Simple replenishing rich moisturizer review

Simple’s Replenishing Rich Moisturizer has pro-vitamin B5 to help restore soften and smooth, glycerin to hydrate and nourish, bisabolol to soothe and calm and allantoin to help soften your skin.  Made with no perfume or dyes, like all Simple products, it is suitable for the most sensitive of skin.

This rich moisturizer is not quite a cream, more a thick lotion consistency so you can control the amount easily and it absorbs quickly so you can get on with your makeup.I really liked this moisturizer.  It wasn’t too much for my oilier areas but softened the dry skin on my cheeks after the first use.  At $13 for 125ml at Walmart, it is decently priced for how well it works.  The micellar water and wipes both retail for $8.27 at Walmart.
