Ipsy November 2015 All products beauty blast

I am still not sure how I feel about my November ipsy glambag. The theme for November was Beauty Blast, so it was nice to get less skincare and more cosmetics.  I doubt many people who subscribe to ipsy have managed to never receive a Smashbox Full Exposure mascara sample in the past.  I always seem to have a few of them lying around.

I thought I would do something a little different for November.  Each month, ipsy not only shows you what you are receiving, but the full list of samples sent that month.  So I thought I would show you my dream box, if I could pick from the items they have for November.

I tried to go with the same themes, since ipsy likes to make sure you get a little of everything so

  • Colorpop Supershock in Stereo in place of the Trestique lip crayon
  • Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil in place of Albertini Warm Love
  • Benefit Gimme Brow in place of mascara – samples everyone has tried & a featured brand for the month
  • Sigma E25M mini blending brush in place of the liner brush
  • Either of the nail polishes in place of Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer

Review: My November Ipsy Glambag

Ipsy November All products

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara: As I said, who has not tried Smashbox mascara.  It is a decent mascara, not my favourite but since I always have a few minis, the one I tend to keep in my purse for touchups.  November is a great time to receive a mini since you are more likely to be attending parties and want to touch up the look for photos.

INSPR Angled Liner Brush: Firm but not touch, again decent but nothing special about it.  It is a little thick for my liking so harder to get a fine line, but applies gel smoothly.

Ipsy November 2015 Trestique Nantucket Nude Lip Crayon Matte

Tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon: While I know I am usually the first one to complain about the awful pinks and bright reds received in subscription boxes, this colour is just blah.  With Christmas parties and the like in November, I would have loved a colour that popped but Nantucket Nude isn’t even a My Lips But Better shade.  It settles into creases but is not as drying as many matte lip products.  Maybe if I had received one of the other colours (Florence Fig or Chili Red) but at least they listened when I said stop sending me cheap looking red lippies!

Ipsy November Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer Swatch

Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer:  I am not huge on highlighting, but with party season, November was the perfect time to receive it.  It looks quite dark out of the tube, but blends well to provide a golden highlight.  I love that it has some shimmer without glitter or being overly sparkly too.  I can use the little bit of colour on my winter pale skin,  I will be like a ghost by January!  It shows all the fine lines though, so prime that skin well before use.

Ipsy November Albertini Warm Love

Albertini Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask: I am not really sure if this is meant to be a light scrub or an actual mask since you are supposed to work it into the skin pretty much all of the time it is on your face.  You cleanse, then dry your face, apply all over and rub in for 2-3 minutes with wet fingers.  I was not a huge fan of other Albertini products I tried, but this one is good.  After rubbing it in, you can leave it on for 5-10 minutes.  It is not a scrub full of exfoliation beads, but you can feel the pieces as you massage it into your face.  While I thought the sample was small, I have used it twice and still have a fair bit in the tub.

Overall, I will probably use everything in my November ipsy glambag, but not sure if I would ever purchase any of them.  Subscribe to ipsy here.
