Ipsy September Unboxing

Ipsy September 2015 Unboxing

Ipsy September 2015 Unboxing

I had planned to cancel ipsy after some underwhelming glambags and the rising cost due to the US exchange rate (ipsy charges in US dollars) but did not cancel on time and was pretty happy when I received my glambag in September.  It always feels wrong calling these unboxings since they come in a bag but whatever, here are my September ipsy items:

I will start by saying that I love the bag this month.  I prefer top opening bags but this one is stylish and fits well in my purse.  The bronze bag will work well for fall.

Formula X Ignite Ipsy Sept 2015

Obviously the first item I grabbed out of the bag was Formula X Nail Color in Ignite.  A nice dark red creme polish, this mini was opaque and would probably work well for all skin tones.  Ignite is part of the The Match set for fair to light skin tones and retails for $19 for a set of 4 although this is a little bigger than the minis included in the Match set.  So around $5 value for this deep fiery red.

IpsyxNYX Eyeshadow Trio Ipsy Sept 2015

IpsyxNYX Eyeshadow Trio Colours Ipsy Sept 2015

Since NYX is opening stores in Canada and offering online shopping, it was nice to get a NYX product.  This was a NYX x Ipsy exclusive eyshadow trio that can be work for a neutral or smokey look.  The black could be more pigmented but the eyeshadows are decent.  Similar sized palettes are priced at $9.

MOTD Waterproof slide on eyeliner Ipsy 2015

The J.Cat #MOTD Waterproof Slide On Eye Pencil in Bronze is decent and lasts all day but is not self sharpening and the shape of the pencil vs product makes it difficult to sharpen so it is already dull.  This was a full size and retail for $4 which is a great price if they were available anywhere around here.

Crown Brush Ipsy Sept 2015

I was quite impressed with this Crown Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush.  It is soft and fluffy and the crease brush is a great size.  I am not a huge fan of double ended brushes as I can’t throw them into a jar standing up and I lose them in my train case which would be the only bad thing I would say about this.  They advertise a regular price of $17.50 for this brush but currently on sale for $7.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub Ipsy Sept 2015

Finally, a brightening scrub that I have not tried yet.  ACURE Brightening Facial Scrub is vegan friendly and gently exfoliates your skin while removing impurities from your pores without taking your natural moisture with it. It promises that the organic chlorella growth factor and argan stem cells work to stimulate new cell growth and repair. Madonna lily stem cells help brighten.  Full size is $10 for 4 oz, so this 1oz sample is worth $2.50.

Total value of these products is just $27.50 which is disappointing, but since I will actually use all five products, I was happy with it.  At almost $20 with the exchange rate and shipping, I really expect more of my glambags.
