Influenster’s l’Oreal #MysteryBrand VoxBox – A Week Later

GarnierMysteryBrand

As I mentioned last week, I have been trying out a free sample of a mystery brand of hair care from l’Oreal Canada from Influenster.  I was surprised how great my hair was after the first wash which I blogged about last week but we all know that hair products can work great once and be terrible on the next use so here is my update and feelings on it after a week.

SHAMPOO: I thought I just didn’t wet my hair enough on the first use as our hot water tank had just been serviced and I had to have a quick shower as there was not much hot water but the shampoo doesn’t get as sudsy as I am used to, especially on the first wash.  I know the suds don’t actually clean your hair and are there to make you think its cleaner, but it does leave you wondering if you got it everywhere.  So instead I gave myself a good head massage with the shampoo which felt amazing!  After the first use and knowing it did clean my hair well, I find I used less of the #MysteryBrand than I do with my regular shampoo.

CONDITIONER: I love this conditioner.  I have quite coarse wavy hair and usually need a lot to tame the birds nest my hair will become but a little goes a long way with this conditioner which is great as it needs less rinsing.  Like the shampoo, it smells gorgeous (especially compared to the more herby scent of EverPure).  It left my hair shiny, soft and bouncy without being so weightless that it frizzed and was a hassle to style.

SPLIT END SERUM: After just a week and being due for a hair cut soon, it is hard to tell if it helped with split ends, but the serum does help with styling and the ends do look neater.  They do not frizz out as much and stay straightened longer.

OVERALL: I love this hair care line and will definitely be buying it.  My hair has gotten used to the EverPure line and while I love the no sulphate line, my hair seems to be growing faster than the colour wears out anyway so I would rather have the great feeling this product line leaves and colour a little more often.  I am really looking forward to finding out what it is!

My GUESS: Like many of the influensters who received this to try, I have been searching to find out what it could be from l’Oreal’s line up of products.  The #MysteryBrand promises to help repair your hair using Phyto-Keratin Complex and Cupuacu Butter so with these ingredients, my guess is Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser (and all Garnier products smell scrumptious so that would explain the gorgeous scented products too).

  1. Great review!

  2. I’ve never used Garnier so I wouldn’t have guessed that, but it’s so lovely to have great smelling hair.

  4. My guess too… I just love the smell.. that sucks about your hot water tank

    1. @Marie it was just an annual service, it is part of our rental agreement on the tank so I make use of it so it doesn’t break down like the furnace did twice this winter

  5. I’m usually not a huge fan of Garnier products but if this is from the Garnier collection then I am surprised they came out with something this good.

  6. so seems that most people was right about it been Garnier products (no me). Just got the reveal in the mail today.
